3D Printed Quality Tiles WITHOUT a 3D Printer

Steel and Scale Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/steelandscale/steel-and-scale-a-tabletop-roleplaying-game?ref=cixk65

Trying my hand at making some street tiles meant for a town or city, and I have to say they turned out wonderfully! The process of using silicone is a little messy but the detailed bricks are definitely worth-while. Plus you can make roads and streets quickly without baking anything or losing details in just the foam alone. Part 2 will be release down the road! 😉

  1. Fantastic video as always, and I'm very excited to see how you've made magnetic curbs. I liked RPA's curbs/roads but as someone less talented and with less time, having add-on ones just seems easier and more flexible for less work. Anticipation!

  2. That patron shoutout was very clever, great video! The paintjob looks great!

I'd love to see you do a more general video on some of the techniques you use. I understand you use a lot of methods from Blackmagiccraft and RP Archive, but even then it's worth showing off, I think.

  3. Thats a fast and confortable way to make a thousand bricks!! And i love to see who all youtube combine ideas.
PS: you should try the transparent silicon one day. But, before put on, you should add a layer of modpoge over the painting if you dont want the silicon to turn green/yellow in a few days

  4. This is a great idea, thank you – I've been looking for a material to create thin, textured tiles; dental plaster is too thin/brittle. 3d printed resin too unstable (it curls up over time). Clay shrinks too much. But it's just possible that a layer of silicone and a textured roller could be exactly the thing I've been looking for all this time! Thank you.

  5. Wow, so good and you make it look so easy as well 😀 I don't know if you take requests but could you look into snowy terrain? My mum has her little christmas town she likes to decorate after Halloween and snowy hills/woodland + these street tiles would be absolutely perfect for her. Seems like a cool way to share the hobby 🙂

  6. Nice, I quite like the muddy gradients of editing Raechel. It gives a similar result to how I base wasteland tiles in my 40k minis, I use layers of textured acrylic mediums and bleed in inks and washes as they dry. I think the smooth fading patches of colour variation look great from a distance.
Also that steel and scale game looks cute, it's like brotherhood of steel faces off against high fantasy 🙂 two of my favorite things combined

  7. I love watching RP Archives and Black Magic Craft get remixed into your builds. The iterations of design are amazing. Thanks for the tips and kick the next video to the curb as soon as you can

  8. As someone who uses this product at work weekly, here's a bit of a warning for everyone now picking this stuff up. Do not rinse silicone caulking down the drain. It will not dilute enough and it will bind to your pipes.

  9. Another great crafting video! The last road tiles I made were a few years ago, and I carved all the cobblestone by hand… so yeah, I’ll have to try this method next time. Seems waaay better.

  10. Very cool stuff— gives me a lot of tangential ideas, so thanks for that! But I couldn’t help but wince at the presence of neodymium magnets. I can just see myself accidentally laying my phone down beside one of these tiles & completely bricking the hard drive or something. 😬

  11. I love your magnet jig. A great alternative to RP Archive's 3D printed one (though that one's great too). And I love your cheap alternative to the Shifting Lands too. This channel is an awesome complement to RP Archive.
