We gave interior designers Darren Jett, Chiara de Rege, and Jenny Kaplan a photo of the same bare A-Frame cabin—then asked each of them to create a design for it in their particular style, however they pleased. im i the only one who loves jenny’s design and colors? it feels very midcentury modern to me. one thing i would like to add though is maybe more natural lighting like windows and then add darren’s bookshelves
Not even one minute in and Jenny already lost me. As a designer myself, I would never call a place "uninspiring" FIRST THING!! Every place has a potential and as a designer, it is our job to identify those and excite our clients about it. The unimpressed voice she had while calling the space "not inspiring and typical" made me ick. Every house we see is a typical 4-walled houses. You don't call them uninspiring!! You appreciate the architecture, the space, the scale-anything (just like how Darren and Chiara did here) but you certainly don't look down on them.

Darren won this one hands down. I wish I could.move into his space right now. How beautiful and creative.
Not sure how you'd cook a meal in Jenny's kitchen without any appliances or… a sink? It looks very unfinished

I've never disagreed so much with a design choice, wow! How could they not see the raw potential and instead transform it into something so completely different?

Jenny sounds so bored and it reflects in her uninspiring design. Shes the only one to make the space worse than before

I need Darren's space with Chiara's open window design!!! OMG. Darren had some STIFF competition this time!!! Wow! Chiara's literally captured me simply because of that open window! I'm a loyal fan of Darren's designs though! It's Darren for me!!!
Jenny’s design grew on my by the end. There was a moment where I thought it was heading the wrong direction compared to the others, but it’s actually quite cozy and appealing. I wish it had more light like the others, though. Darren and Chiara’s designs are both gorgeous.
Darren's is giving me 70's Bond vibes and I'm totally sold on the fantasy 😎
Chiara's vision started off a little meh but once she broke open the back wall it all came together 😍
Not sure about the third space… Feels like a cold and confused art gallery I wouldn't want to spend any time in. Also her disinterested vocal fry would send me if we had to work together 😅
