  1. Sean Tracy is using the building block excuse. We have duel mode that is using the same matchmaking as private games used.
If CIG really wants to, we can have private games back tomorrow.

  2. This ISC was shit : CIG present us what is AC and "hey, it's not broken anymore". We don't play AC because the flight model is shit, and everybody use the fuckin same Meta-Gladius….
Bullshit. Why people keep giving money to a company like CIG ?

  3. I think I used Arena 3-4 times, as I bought a package in early 2020, mostly to learn the commands of the ship.
The inability to customize my ships without "paying" for credits also does not contribute much to the usability as a testing ground.
In free flight you should be able to test whatever you want for free.

  4. If CIG are investing into improving AC then it falls inline with a general push for QOL updates. It also confirms for me that the 4.0 branch is not coming this year. No PYRO, no master modes, no fleet battles, no Idris, no boarding. They had better do a decent job at updating AC. You know it, we know it. CIG's reputation will be in tatters if we are still on the 3.18 branch at the end of this year. 3.19 will be QOL and Q3. 4.0 for 2024.

  5. This was a two stage gaslight. Tracy outright said only a couple of devs worked on ToW in their spare time using ingame assets only to reveal a year later it had been outsourced for 18 months already, using a dozen or more devs at another company (including cig devs working in parallel *cough Illfonic*). This history was completely erased today. But hey, he learned his mistake about setting timelines! Zyloh then gaslights the community today putting Siege of Orison on a pedestal (as if it were a paragon of epic content delivered to backers where you can’t even leave a platform without calling for help or backspacing.) exaggerating Siege was not possible without the work behind ToW.

It’s this kind of stuff where I can’t help but feel cynical about the always puffy marketing hype masquerading as “transparent development” neuralyzing us of their history while telling us we should be thankful. I’m glad AC is getting love, but this is truly development hell.

  6. "A lot of artists worked hard on this". Yeah, there's the CIG methodology for you; they made it look pretty.
Maybe they could try hiring a few more actual programmers instead. I for one think it would be wild if instead of looking amazing and not working, something like Arena Commander actually functioned.
Oh, and imagine if instead of telling us about how great features would have been if only they had worked properly, or how great they are intended to be someday (maybe, if they ever get finished), CIG could deliver a few of them on-time and working well.

  7. There is always an excuse why a feature can't be implemented or relies on another feature that isn't ready yet. The same story since i started playing in 3.7.x. For now I paused playing SC a month ago because of the delayed release of 3.18 . Why has 3.18 been delayed? because there are excuses again. Don't make promisses when you can't deliver CIG.

  8. Yeah I usually look forward to Inside Star Citizen, but this week was disappointing. Felt like fluff to me. Didn't tell me anything I wanted to hear. It felt like everyone was really rushing through what they were saying, staying excited and animated while they said it.
