  1. Thanks Travis, Important point about communications or lack thereof:
'Deaf Man Arrested, Jailed For 4 Months After He Couldn't Hear Police'
Oct 1, 2021 Deaf Man was Tased, Arrested and Jailed For 4 Months After He Couldn't Hear Police Commands: Lawsuit Brady Mistic, who uses American Sign Language to communicate, has sued the city of Idaho Springs, Colorado, and the officers who arrested him.
The charges against Mistic, which include second-degree assault on a police officer and resisting arrest, were eventually dropped, according to the lawsuit. Mistic was also charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument after Summers found what appeared to be 24 $100 bills in his wallet, which she said felt like they were made of printer paper with Chinese symbols on the back of the bill, according to the police report.

According to the lawsuit, the bills were “fake movie-prop money with Chinese characters from Wish___” which is an online marketplace. “Possessing play money without any intent or attempt to pass it off as real money is not a crime,” the filing says.

Mistic was held in jail for four months with an extremely high bond due to the serious nature of the charges and could not pay his bail, according to his attorney Raymond Bryant. Mistic’s bond was first lowered to $3,000, which he still could not afford, and then he was granted a personal recognizance bond, releasing him from jail without having to post any money, Raymond said.

The prosecution against Mistic continued for almost two years until District Attorney Heidi McCollum moved to dismiss his charges in July. In the lawsuit, Mistic claims he was denied an interpreter while in jail.

  2. I often say the inverse is true in legal land. The first amendment is in a preferred position of being FIRST! The right to make speech would make the inverse true with the right to NOT make speech. Could it be the first amendment to stay silent is more powerful than the 5th amendment which is 4 amendments down the line.

    You are wise Travis 👍🏾

  3. The absolute closest I've ever been to Travis/Cop interaction never even included a request for ID. I got pulled over in a North Carolina town where my family owns a Christmas Tree Farm. I live 290 miles away in a different State. When the LEO pulled me over and came to my window he asked " where are you coming from ". I asked him why he pulled me over and he said " I'll answer your question after you answer mine ". I shifted in my seat to be somewhat face to face with him and never said another word. After we faced each other a couple of minutes he walked back to his car and drove away also never saying another word. It was so weird and still to this day I have no idea why the encounter happened. I'm 72 now so I guess I don't arouse much "suspicion" that seems to be the magnet for Travis/Cop interactions.

  4. Why can't govt infringe on 2A? 2A is inanimate object. All infringements are 1A of time, place, manner of where you place your soapbox when freedom of religion, speech, redress grievance, press, petition govt. armed or unarmed, doesn't matter. concealed or open carry doesn't matter.

  5. Best Amendment to start and use when they first come up to investigate as they call it and want to speak with you is 6th Amendment, this states that you will nit speak with them without having your attorney present, this starts and activates prior to them reading you the Miranda. This will secure your rights if they continue to badger you or threaten arrest uf you don't speak. Then if you give up something, they have already violated your rights when they did not break off the discussion or questioning. 😊

  6. How about quit trying to nit pick every day activities while trying to inset the 2nd or 4th or 5th amendment and practice more decency and common courtesy.
It's like you go out of your way to be rude just to prove what?
And what does it get you? Misery, that's what.
In Williston you proved what? And after it was over, you gained what?
In Nack-O-Dish your misery continues, all because YOU were trying to prove a point. You will gain nothing.
