  1. Doing her plan she’ll burn out. She can’t work 6-4 and half days on Saturdays. Plus work door dash in her free time. To only pay off her debt in 25 months. She needs to work less hours and make more pay. So she can have more time for the side hustle. Orrrrrrrrrrr if she likes her current job so much demand for a pay raise so at least she gets more money because of the OT. Then continue to do the side hustle.

  2. She listened to some tik tok influencer and liked the ideas, but she has no awareness of the reality of her debt. She thinks she's going to get out of her situation by manifesting it, with no realistic path forward. This is the saddest episode I've ever seen. She HAS to get a new job. She HAS to pursue child support. The saddest thing is her children will be completely screwed by her inability to learn.

  3. If maybe they stopped teaching useless shit in highschool and tjought you general finances the world wouldnt be in shit. Heres the eye openeer though, school is made to fail you in life. go to college after school go into 30/50k of collefe debt then potentially get a job with ur degree and spend the next 20 years paying it off and if u dont learn finances in thar time u will die broke to the system

  4. Being $31K in debt and her plan is to pay it off in 18 (or so) months sounds impossible, but on $53K (at best with 1200 weekly DD), this is actually doable if everything happens perfectly, and she gets some help with interest through child support. But I still agree with Caleb that she needs a better job because the current plan has her working 70 hrs per week. She works too hard for the output – not to mention the burden on her kids and her mom. I'm happy for her in the sense that she is growing up very quickly.

  5. I feel like some poor people get into that "I can just work extra hours" loop. One thing that could be helpful is talking about how many hours are literally in a week because obviously the math here isn't mathing but she's like "I will just do extra uber".

There are 168 hours in a week. You sleep for 56 of them. After that, you literally only have 112 hours to work with (not counting commute, food, showers, etc). What's her day look like? I bet she'd figure out that with her other obligations, there's no way she'd be able to maintain 100 hour workweeks at her current wage for the length of time it would take to pay off that debt.

  6. can confirm she’s probably right about chewy. my cats are on prescription food and the only place I can get a discount is the 5% autoship discount with chewy, everywhere else it’s the standard price across the board.

  7. I see people like her a lot in my day to day. They fear change, they're scared of losing their income, they don't realize that credit cards are the reason theyre getting by every month, they've chosen to be comfortable in with the job they have when they could make more anywhere else. It's a really hard state of mind to get out of. She came on the show but unfortunately I don't think she's ready to make the changes she needs.

  8. I get that the fathers should pay and they should be involved but defaulting to "get them to pay up for your bad financial decisions " when most of the debt is from things that have absolutely nothing to do with the kids doesnt sit right. Child support shouldn't be used as something to just get by default because she's bad with money and making more money when you have no common sense or financial literacy won't really change her situation. She needs to take accountability for her actions and the recommendation should be get the child support and put it in a savings account and only use it on actual ESSENTIALS, MEDICAL CARE, and CHILDCARE for the kids. None of that money should be used to pay for her bad choices or frivolous purchases.

  9. She doesn't understand the difference in pay between 7 1/2month certification course to having nothing at all she could be getting paid double! I went from 9.50 to 30hour and it only cost me 7 1/2 month and 9500 in student loan dedt at a 2.7% apr😑
