  1. I remember watching this for the first time when it came out and the zombies were terrifying. Usually in zombie worlds, you think you could have a chance at surviving. In this world though, it's pretty difficult unless you can run faster than them and hide. Loved it.

  2. One thing I noticed is Selina's growth during the film as well, even though it's kind of subtle. She hesitated when it came to that moment you described. With Mark, nearer the beginning, she did not hesitate for a second. She was all about pure survival. She is still a survivor by the end, still strong enough to do what she needs to do. But there's this MOMENT's hesitation added… she CARES enough to wait a moment and SEE if Jim is all right or not. It's subtle, beautiful character growth. Love it! 🙂

  3. I saw this on opening night, it was so good and the film is really thoughtful and poignant without really spiraling into nonsense. Jim becomes an “infected” person in action at the end, brutal, and a lot of callback-setup & payoff. Love Danny Boyle’s films, the direction and Alex Garland’s writing, I wish the film had been a one off bc #2 kind of does the opposite of this, interested but not excited for #3

  4. For some behind the scenes of the empty city shots, they were recording digitally so preparation time is like 5 minutes to be ready to shoot. They had like 20 minute windows to have the streets cleared off with help of the police and as for the tipped over bus scene-they were in and out in 20 minutes. Very great work by the production team

  5. Well yes but actually No, their not zombies since the movie doesnt show them eating anyone only spitting blood onto the people. there just Infected civilians are fuelled by Rage causing them to RUN like hell

  6. The monkeys at the start in the lab? There IS a chemical that can make them behave like that in that kind of setting: testosterone. If you put chimps on androgens they become little rage monsters. Anything will, really. It can be useful in controlled amounts though even some naturally occurring levels can have negative effects, but it is pure poison at higher levels.

The thing they got most wrong was that no sexual activity precluded the deaths. That's maybe the most troubling thing about it all, that the line to rage murders is the next street over from sexual stimulation.

If what makes a movie good is how much it makes you think then this movie is one of the best, ever.

  7. For the record, neither TWD (yes, not even the book) nor 28DL did the plot of "Man waking up in hospital to an empty city" trope first. That would be "Day Of The Triffids", written in 1951 by John Wyndham and adapted multiple times since.

  8. Dude, the way they shot this at 3am having the crew’s hot family members talking to people coming home from the pub to calm them while they shut down streets for shooting, to the way they used different shutter speed for the humans and the infected is fucking 🤌

  9. The scariest part of this movie isn't the rage zombies. It's the fact that it didn't even take a full month for the army men to resort to luring in vulnerable women with the promise of safety, fullyi intending to force them into sexual slavery.

    Not. Even. A month.

  10. My child self seeing this with my cousins in the theaters…. didn't need to EVER see it again. I don't know why!!! I was totally okay with Resident Evil or any other zombie movie. This scarred me.
