2025 Nissan Armada | MotorWeek First Drive

A new design, a smaller yet more powerful engine, and a naval fleet’s worth of technology are all part of this next-gen Armada’s arsenal. And yet, off to landlocked Tennessee we flew for a First Drive in and around the city of Franklin; and that included some off-roading in the new PRO-4X trim.

  1. Nissan has “raised the bar” too late in the game. With losses mounting and slowing sales, Nissan leadership announced major cuts across the board on November 7. 2024. Production of the Rogue and Frontier, both produced in the U.S., is going to be drastically reduced. Describing the situation as “emergency mode,” Nissan is implementing an aggressive series of cutbacks to stave off further losses.

  2. I don't understand why cars are getting bigger and bigger, why trucks, SUVs and off-roads don't generally have diesel engines. Diesel engines are more efficient and deliver more torque.

  3. As a 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser owner, with the ever-reliable V8 and minimal bells and whistles, I would definitely consider this new Armada over theToyota offering if mine disappeared one night. I'll be curious to see one once they hit the local dealer. But, unless mine gets stolen, at 72 years old, the LC200 will likely outlast me. Well done Nissan!
