I have a 690 and 701 (it’s long story) and love them but only after a fair bit of customising to make them less uncivilised. This looks like more bang for buck than either! When’s the enduro out??
To me, it's all part of the nostalgia, riding bikes that were big for me as a kid. If money were no object, I think this would be a contender for my local hooligan riding notions. A bike for every mood.
Andy, Hooligan? Never 🤣Once again a great review. Many thanks for braving the inclement weather to provide us armchair warriors with the ins and outs of a machine that we will probably never own but secretively dream of having a clutch of. Have you ever had a mishap on riding a manufacturer’s loan machine? I’m sure if I were in your shoes I would have no problem in doing so having thrown a couple Ron Haslam’s machines down the road. One at Silverstone and one at Donington, but they do say if you don’t you are not trying hard enough. 🤕
Great review, thanks. Wouldn't buy one, but I'd love a go!! One thing – how will having an enormously long neck help with riding it?🤣🤣🤣
As has already been said, that cabling is godawful. For a very expensive machine, I would have expected this feature to have been designed much , much better.Totally ruins the bike, sorry guys
Nice review, be interesting to see you compare the 698 against the 950 RVE.
My only negative feedback would be that the rear view camera I personally find nauseous to watch, would be interesting what others think of that camera view/footage
Too much money for a little thumper, but Suzuki's DRZ4sm might be right on the money.
Dear Ducati: Please make an adventure version of this: Style it after the Multistrada (the Monostrada?). Incorporate a larger fuel tank. And put some damned fenders on it!!!
I’ve really been wanting to get into track days. If there were actually tracks around me, which there isn’t, this would be on my list of bikes
5'8" normal? Pull the other one 😂😂
I do miss my Supermoto (DRZ400SM). But I am in love with my GSA 👍
Brilliant town bike then head for the hills.
Nice review Andy. Thank you.
It's a Hooligan Bike and a Licence Loser in the Wrong/Right Hands, I Think that Front Wheel will Head for the Clouds in 3rd Gear, Pair that with a Good Set of Pirellis or Michelins and there is Not much that will keep up.👹👹👹
Fun machine to just hop on and take off. Hold on. It's a fast one. But light and handling are most desirable attributes of this one. Rain and Pain on the wet. Beautiful bike, balanced visually. They got this one right. The shifting has to be incredible fast. For what is is and the fun one can have well worth the price. All good 5832. Lucky you still have the 360. Now a little review of the most recent Ducati single. The Super Mono. Take a look.https://youtube.com/shorts/lbxn_P3T4Xs?si=b-QAP7zvbCsK8fsu
Absolutely love my RVE, it's big fun! Definitely worth reviewing it again in the summer.
Giraffes 😂😂
If you bought one of these, and within a year or so you hadn't received points for some indescretion, id suggest you bought the wrong bike 😊
You on a ‘hooligan’ bike. It’s like a bank manager doing cash in hand work on the side.
hey there , good review , again you say you havent ridden many of these bikes , so what about the suzuki 400 or the KTM 690 . be looking forward to see you give these bikes ago and support suzuki and KTM , these bike are fun to ride easy to live with too . cheers Steve /Australia
Insta 360 video is very unnatural and dizzying
Sounds like my 350cc… Not fan of the shape but the market needs it,not many of these exist (engine wise)
I nearly bought a hypermotard then i realised I'm 43 and need to grow up xD
Hi Andy, Just to say thanks for all the Mighty Wing tours, watched them over the Christmas break and now in addition to the Thruxton RS and Tiger 900 I have a 24 Wing DCT on the way – that was an expensive bit of causal seasonal You Tubing. 😂
Maybe lots of KTM buyers will move over to Ducati.
Its probably the dogs taters, but the looks don't do it for me and that cable over the screen would do my head in.
This and (if they dont muck it up) the R20 concept…..the only 2 other bikes i need.
then i'll stop
Great review Mr Flyer of a fantastic looking bike, as you'd expect from Ducati. Not a genre of bike I've ridden much over the years, but can certainly see the attraction. Also, my wee 29inch inside leg measurement would probably be a deal breaker haha.
Inseam of 27 in got no chance but fantastic bike
Those narrow country lanes look frickin scary to ride . No room for error or plan b
Enjoying your reviews from New Zealand . Watched your Canada / Alaska vids . It motivated me to do the same in July / august this year
These bikes look great, watch Chopsy on one recently and thought it I had the money one of these in the garage would be great
I'm impressed how much the back lifts at 6:01 when you hit the front brake!
Haha. Looks like great fun to ride. A lovely noise of it
Funny ,I just sat on one of these on Saturday. It would be a blast to ride, I'm sure.
Italians just know how to make things of beauty
Love it. Due to being 5' 9" and turning the big 70 I may have to be satisfied just having the V4 Ducati Diavel which I enjoy heaps. Can't really compare though. Oh well I know I won't grow taller and age wise do the opposite so just look in envy.
Jacati??
Best quote from the video “If you were a giraffe it would be really helpful” 😂😂😂
your bike is 2024 model. not 2025.
Nice Bike & great review..Thanks
does it have cruise control?
I love the complaints about the cable. I guess most people don’t understand the whole Frankenstein/dirt bike thing with these bikes. Same with the dash. It’s an accepted part of the design. Nice review. Cool bike. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
