I admittedly don’t watch college basketball until March every year so I was relatively unaware of Bilas, but he’s now my most hated figure in sports commentary. Never seen someone who not only hates fans of a sport as much as him, but also genuinely thinks he’s so far superior to those same fans. I really believed him the thousandth time times that he said “I don’t care” that interview because he doesn’t seem to value other opinions at all, he thinks he’s so far above that. Also, I’m going to add a lame qualifier by saying as an English teacher, he’s completely wrong about the meaning of the word disingenuous and that is a perfect word to describe his affect.
