I’d like the Raiders to take a flyer on Penix if he falls to the late 2nd round
As a Penix fan, he didn’t answer the bell. Straight up. This game was too big for him.
According to Brugler, Fautanu has 34.5” arms. He’s on the shorter side but if that arm measurement is correct he definitely does not suffer from a lack of arm length lol
I'm a 25yo lefty that is right hand dominant when it comes to throwing and catching. I don't remember any traumatic forcing of me to use my right hand. I think i just did it myself. I sometimes wonder if I'm right handed but small me copied my left handed siblings for writing.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. The chargers will pay Harbaugh 🔌
I swear anybody can talk sports you dont even have to think a little…michael penix played bad his draft stock fell next sentence the Washington front got absolutely manhandled by Michigan smh…penix can play or he cant its not complicated in football you cant judge players off one game we can all ageee the jets offense stinks but when they play against elite QBs them QBs look terrible if im the falcons im offering the 8th pick for fields if chicago say no im drafting penix.
After listening to this I can definitely understand why retired players can't stand these egg heads. They speak with ultimate authority while being as unqualified as me to speak on it lol.
Harbaugh may go to the Raiders
Sam and Tre must both be short. Only short guys think that a longer stride has anything to do with being faster. Maybe Steve could walk them through it. 😂😂
Just in case anyone is unaware: if you have a longer stride, that means that you have to move your legs farther, which requires more energy, to take that stride. Conversely, people with a shorter stride don't have to work as hard to move their legs. Therefore, if you have a longer stride, you have to work just as hard, if not harder, to be fast.
I think Penix is a winner took a bunz Indiana squad and got them ranked transfers to a team usually ranked and takes them to the ship. Had all those injuries and he’s still grinding. Kinda guy who has a lot of heart one of the best leaders in the draft. Obviously still inconsistent but that Texas game he didn’t miss, a bucket the whole game
Don't draft them then Trevor. They'll just prove you wrong.
This podcast. Ould of been condensed to 15 minutes and still got the same shitty information out of it
Harbaugh is a Charger stop the count
Why don’t the bears have a shot at landing Harbaugh.. it infuriates me
Penix looked like Uncle Rico out there
I think he is still an first round pick. He had an really good season where he was asked to be an driving force of his team.
Also the NFL needs QBs badly. Just look at the teams picking at the top 12 in the draft.
Technically lefties are better at sports, look it up. Don't hate on us 10%'rs lol
Penix is an injury prone QB with a funky throwing motion that gets worse when he is forced out of the pocket. Round 2 at best and a career backup.
Arm length and hand size are the dumbest evaluation tools.
What are the chances that everybody declines to HC the Panthers and they have to start the season with an internally promoted interim head coach?
The CFP is as tainted as it can be.
Kind of wild to me how you guys didn't talk about the Bears being probably the most attractive landing spot for a head coach especially for Harbaugh since he was drafted by them. What head coach wouldn't want to walk into a situation where you have a very solid defense, an elite WR in DJ Moore and two top 10 picks in the draft including number one overall where you can take the quarterback of your choice?
You guys are driving the biomechanical running community bonkers though clearly you mean well. Stride length isn’t nearly as directly correlated to height as you (and many others think) it’s much more attributable to a strength/ body weight ratio. Usain Bolt’s average stride length has been calculated at around 2.5m, whereas if he had been simply walking it would be less than 1m. The primary reason for his superhuman speed was because when his foot pushed off the ground he flew farther than anyone else in history, not because his legs were longer. I’m not saying it has zero effect because height is certainly a component of stride length, it’s just not that simple a correlation.
IF harbaugh chooses the raiders, it will have been because of the fact the raiders are a historic franchise that he started his NFL career for
Penix didn’t have any running game to help him, his star running back was hurt.
I am hearing hawks fans liking penix, but this skill set is like Geno Smith. Good thrower but lack the feet to get outside and make something happens (young russ) Geno last 2 years putting up good numbers, but th ewins aren't dominating.
trust me Trevor, as a Husky alum, that game was painful to watch due to all of the questions brought against Penix not being answered. we were 1 possession down for a while, but i never believed we were gonna actually tie it. ive never felt like that when watching this team the past 2 seasons (and i watch every game). credit to Michigan, all of those things were caused by their great defense. there were plays to be made for UW, but they couldnt make them plus the pick to open the 2nd half was a kick in the nuts type play
In full disclosure I am an unapologetic Penix truther and have had him as QB2 for a couple months. Watching live broadcast Monday I thought he played an atrocious game. Sat down today and popped in the tape, watched every Washington offensive snap. it was not nearly as bad as I expected. In fact I would go so far as to say I was pleasantly surprised. Maye's had several games this year that were comparable or worse. The fact that Penix appeared to get substantially injured was more worrying to me than anything about his play. Meanwhile Fautanu and Odunze played extraordinary games (all things considered). Jalen McMillan, on the other hand, a guy that I have been very high on – I liked him for mid Day 2 – was quite disappointing. On the Michigan side, Junior Colson and Mikey Sainristil really stood out (duh). Sainristil is a top 100 prospect
By way of indirect comparison, Kris Jenkins success against Washington is proof positive of JC Latham's quality. Latham was tossing Jenkins around like a sack of flour in the CFP semis, made him look like a Day 3 nobody.
Huge kudos to Trevor for his Corum take, I could not possibly agree more
Penix has shown red flags all year, people seem to have just decided to ignore the bad and gush about the good. He had two of the best WRs in college football, one of them is probably a top 10 pick and the other might be a 1st rounder himself, and he had all day to throw in a conference light on defense. His game against Michigan looked an awful lot like his game against Arizona State. He's just not an NFL QB, he's got sloppy feet, poor mechanics, bad pocket mobility and cannot create out of structure. He's Hendon Hooker or Jacoby Brissett at best, it was a fun season but you have to look at the totality of his tape.
Blake Corum was faster as an underclassman, he put on weight to be the bell-cow. Prior to that he was the change of pace back that routinely broke off runs just like Donovan Edwards was doing in the natty.
If you are telling me that a single game can change whether a player is top 10 pick or deserving of being picked 32 players later is probably what's wrong with the NFL. It's confirmation bias and it's the type of things that get guys who are true talents get picked way after they should. Guys like Mahomes, guys like Aaron Rodgers, or the worst of all Brady. Everyone has up games and down games. The amount of bad games Lawrence has had in the NFL you might as well cut him if it's about one game confirming all your fears.
Wink to GB for defensive coordinator
Isn’t commanders’ ownership wealthier than David Tepper too?
If I was a GM candidate, I would give my left nut to sign with bears. Idk what their ownership is like, but their draft capital and cap space is the most exciting in the entire league. It’s also a great city with a rich history
