  1. Stealerships have killed any enthusiasm I have for cars anymore. Why feel excited for this GR Corolla when it'll cost at least $60k with markups and I'll never be able to own one. Same with the Civic Type Dealer Markup as well.

  2. I have a manual Supra on order, but every time I see the GR Corolla, I sometimes question my choice lol Still trying to convince my wife to get this to replace her Corolla! I'll own one of these some day

  3. 15:40 this engine induction noise SOUNDS like a 1.6 4a-ge but is only a 3 cylinder. This is absolutely nuts and i wonder if the engineers looked for the induction noise on purpose. Does this car have itbs?

  4. Every dealership in my state has a reservation list as long as Santa’s and all of them said maybe they’re getting 1 or 2 in, a couple people said, 2 years to get one, that’s how long the list is. So stupid.

  5. Just think how crazy a time we are living in. Toyota makes a:
    3 cylinder
    Turbocharged
    4 door
    Rear Seat Delete
    Michelin Pilot Cup 2
    Manual hand brake
    car

    Unbefukinleavable.

I’d buy one if I didnt want to really fly…..hence my 23 Startosphere Blue 3.0 Supra Premium I ordered with the manual. Awesome times.

  6. @TheTopher I know you get so many of these questions–but as I doubt I'll be able to get my hands on one to test drive–this or Golf R? Or save money with an Elantra N…

I live in Canada and currently drive a 16 WRX. Want something a little more refined but still fun for autocross, occasional track days. My WRX is too crashy/rough riding as a daily around here, and too noisy on the highway, but I like the character.

  7. My impression of your reviews on the GR Corolla are that you are underwhelmed with the engine. You describe it as having enough low end torque to pull the car out or a corner, but then comment how the power fades away at the upper end of the tachometer. In your opinion, would the motor become the limiting factor over time to enjoying this car if someone doesn’t care to tune the engine in the aftermarket? I’m anxiously waiting for a review of this car driven on the street and not just the track.

  8. Even if im a huge honda fan this is the better choice than the type r because of awd, torque split etc etc, heck even the core with diff upgrade is cheaper and better choice than the type r. I just cant justify spending 43kUSD/57KCAD on the type R thats only fwd, corolla gr is the better choice or the elantra N.

  9. Bummer they’re killing the Camaro

Because for that money….unless you need to drive in the snow…SS 1LE destroys this… 51k is bananas for a little hot hatch.

35k to not even have a front LSD is kinda nuts to me.

Would love to snag one someday…. with the backseat I could justify it as a fun dad car lol.

Glad it exists…but between limited production numbers and stealerships….no chance for me….I could swing $37k for a core with performance pack.

Just not sure if a GR86 would be better as a street car for somewhere that won't see snow…? I'm turned off of Subaru powertrains though…fool me once lol

  10. I would love to see the difference between the core model with and without the LSD upgrades. Curious to see how much they actually help with cornering and tight turns.
