JWST, DART, and Firefly, Artemis, Oh My⦠There were so many great moments of 2022 that we enjoyed in the space industry. And I have a hunch 2023 will be even busier. Join Jonathan McDowell and I as we postulate what we can expect for next year with new achievements and catching up on a backlog of missions that were delayed to due the Russia-Ukraine war.

Your channel has really stepped up the game on YouTube. Your professional training, such as speaking with authority, is appreciated.
Merry Christmas Ellie! Thanks for all the videos, hope you have a good holiday.
Thank you, Ellie, I always enjoy when you have Jonathan on. He brings great insight into the space discussions. You have given me a great year of increased knowledge. I look forward to even more from you in 2023.
ARTEMIS-1 my favorite event of 2022, along with meeting you in Florida! Continued success in 2023 and beyond!!!!
Love your channel Thankes for the commitment. Your perspective and sense of humor is refreshing. Happy holidays and a successful new year. ( hint 1000 x $2 is greater than 200 x $6 )
Ellie I really enjoyed your last two 22-23 recaps. They were both informative and enjoyable. You are doing a great job with your channel. Merry Christmas!!! Stay safe; stay warm!! ππππ π». CobraPilot45
Excellent video and an amusing little blooper at the end. I'm looking forward to what happens in space in 2023 and your coverage of those events.
Itβs been a good year for space
Re: Laser Fusion. Been waiting, since β76, but for all we know, the announcement may just be to split Chinaβs resources, from their moon base where theyβre ahead, or even possible fusion research. Still, looks pretty legit!
As for starship, I'd say that people don't appreciate how much new tech is there in Starship, how much it does differently, and consequently, how much there is to learn about how to do it correctly. It's not "we have all this tech, let's just change one or two things", it's "OK, let's almost start from scratch and invent a new, hopefully, better way to do things based on all the general tech advances outside the rocket industry". If it can be done, it's SpaceX who will be able to do it. It's a similar way of thinking as created the Cybertruck and the Tesla Semi, except bigger.
For me it is JWST science and SpaceX reusability exceeding 10 flights.
Best: DART was an excellent success, now we have planetary defense.
Great almost everywhere else, politics aside.
What sucks? The Vulcans didn't land. Relief: Neither did the Klingons, Borg, or Daleks, and we still have a moon.
Nice rap up. Looking forward to watching you chase your dreams in the New Year.
Good luck. Thanks for including Jordan that one time. Angry As-'o
Thanks again Ellie.
Thanks for thee year in review. Happy Holidays! My ffavorite space event of the year was the JWST reveal in July.
π THANKS FOR SHARING THIS WITH US ELLIE π€πWE APPRECIATE THE JWST AS WELL β€οΈπππ
Merry Christmas Ellie π
One of my favorite things to see was Falcon Heavy launching again after 40+ months of sleep mode. I don't care what anyone says about Starship replacing Falcon Heavy, I think there will always be a market for it's size and capabilities.
Meeting you was the best thing that happened in 2022. Plus a few rockets going for it π. Love it & Love you β€οΈ.
My favorite thing in 2022 was watching all the progress SpaceX has made and my biggest disappointment was that StarShip did not make an orbital launch attempt.
Falcon Heavy launches will always remain a highlight.
I thought the title said "Bigger and Bustier than ever before" which is very accurate based on Ellie's obvious healthy growth since 2020. Anything Ellie does that involves interacting with old guys named McDowell has my 100% complete endorsement.
Favorite moment: Falcon 9 trifecta! Who doesn't love 3 falcon 9 launches in less than 36 hours!?!
:48 βWe finally have these to beholdβ! Indeed! Thereβs no getting around the fact that Ellie is the sweet, sexy, fun, interesting space nerd girl next door. We all love ya Ellie! πKeep up the great work in β23!
I wish you the best spacetime coordinates so you can enjoy the most amazing moments of the 23rd but, You can master space, but not time so, go for them, fight for them and don't rest until you reach them. The reward will be worth it.
My favorite was your O face when SLS took off
Thanks!
Many insight of space was covered all over the world, with these space discovery, progress that should've been 23 years ago, suddenly ascended this year. Prohaps more, was well be for next year 2 0 2 3 π€
I haven't been around for a bit, but I appreciate you very much and wanted to offer you a "Scoop". I tried starting with SMR, but it didn't work out. A month ago more or less, a special advertising products division that existed at Starbase for about a week and comprised one to four people affixed some amount of used Starship components on plaques or trophies to be awarded to select people associated with their design and production. Two or three months prior, I tried to prevent Elon from making this happen by installing Twitter on my phone and making my first tweet (DON'T LAUGH!!…. I can't hear you, so it's wasted.) a well crafted Delphi poll using the twitter body for statistical sampling just for my own amusement, and forcing Elon to generate a Tesla Agile non-profit subdivision at Starbase to turn the potentially tens of billions of dollars worth of waste Starship standing around into world wide wall mountable plaques the public can buy to fund Starship departure to Mars planetary orbit (ideally loaded with good stuff), thereby saving all of humanity from mass extinction in the possibly already too near future. Exact unit cost of departing Starships would be known, and funds would be released upon transfer to mars orbital trajectory for the next Starship. A bit grandiose, huh? Can you use that? if so, please run with it. Thanks!
Post Scriptum: I almost forgot to mention, I was so wasted on really good Bitter Ale, that you can not conceive of how long it took to craft and proof that tweet, not even nearly. Absolutely smashed. Couldn't stop laughing for a long time after I wakened the next morning. No Joke.
Thx Ellie for all the great videos and i hope u and family have a Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year π
Just watched. I'm a day late to the party. Feeling like a skuzzbucket. I will be more prompt next time, promise! π
You did it again Ellie. A great wrap to the year 2022.
Congratulations on your success since leaving the boring media and wishing you a great Christmas π π BTW you simply look Marvelous π
Some of my fave 2022 moments:
β’ Announcement of the Polaris Program: highest Earth orbit by humans, first private spacewalk with updated SpaceX spacesuit, first crewed Starship mission!
β’ When Artemis 1 flew way past the Moon, that view of the far side, with our beautiful Earth behind it.π
β’ Finally another Falcon Heavy launch!π
β’ And of course JWST, the gift that will keep giving.π°
Thanks for all of your space coverage Ellie!
Ellie, my favorite this year was finding your channel and I am NOT exaggerating!!! Excellent reporting because of your background and a bunch of different but interesting stories. Keep up your great work please and merry Christmas!!!!
I really hope your channel flies in 2023
They Freemasons need to push their space propaganda because more people are looking into Flat Earth
Yay Ellie and the continued success of her channel!
I SO look forward to seeing the Starship take off. I still think that Elon made a big error in not creating
a flame trench, or diverter of some kind. His Deluge system is FAR too little to handle the 33 engines
of the Starship.
