  1. Jocko, we've had the new 2lt Ranger auto, here for a while. I stopped to chat with a neighbour sporting her new one and she was spitting. The bloody things NEVER in the right gear, she said. Especially when towing. Shes withheld sex until her hubby gets a 3lt manual version back. Bad luck for him.

  2. Disappointed that you guys didn't give the V6 Ranger Wildtrak a crack against the competition. Its a completely different beast to the baby biturbo and really needs its own assesment rather than generalison, it runs an entirely different 4wd setup with 4Auto constant 4wd for towing. It also has a better stock suspension setup compared to the v6 Amarok.
Like many will agree, its pretty safe to say the V6 Wildtrak would have wiped the floor with this line up… if your gonna make a statement like ute of the year, at least have an honest and fair line-up/comparison.

  3. Interesting to see the differences in vehicles you have down there. Great methodology also. One thing though…I can absolutely assure you that these diesel emissions systems are NOT popular in the US. The opposite is true. People treasure the old stuff. They are COMMON however if that is what you mean. But they are only common because our governments will smash you like a bug if you dont comply.

  4. These so called 4WD channels are becoming so shallow, in fact they always have been.
Unthinkingly crashing through the bush, eroding fragile coast lines, not interested in looking at nature itself.
All so these "all the gear and no idea" type people can have a weekend in the country.
What a load of old crap.

  5. What’s going on? Rebadging the same cars?? All of them made in Thailand and China ?? I’m not sure there’s any point of difference with these cars anymore. As much as I hate saying it you might as well just buy the GWM and thrash the shit out of it with it’s 7 year warranty. Or buy a second hand jap made Ute.

  6. Good comparison. It’s hard to choose a ute when you consider all the nitty-gritty. In the end, the ‘best’ one is the one that has the feature/aspect that suits your purposes best. I bought a ute early this year, not new but a low kilometer used ute to save money. I got a 2021 Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain. Love it. It’s stock, all I’ve done is put all-terrain tyres on it, a 12v system, drawer and other stuff for a practical camping and touring setup.

  7. Love the episodes but why not incorporate an underdog like the new JB74 Jimny. I think it’d be pretty cool to see guys like you’s really put it through the work and see how it competes against other 4×4’s.

  8. This could very well be the worst review performed by this channel. The testers don't seem to have any experience performing car reviews based on what they talking about, same scores for 2 or more vehicles but yet they targeted one vehicle with a negavite comment. The mind boggles. This was terrible.

  9. Good review and test 👍
For those with lockers, it would be good to see the first attempt without lockers to get a more complete comparison of traction, articulation and traction control systems, then with lockers engaged if it has it. And when lockers are engaged, a visual identifier would be cool.
It’s a bit disappointing the Ranger Raptor and Jeep Gladiator weren’t in the test, and it would have been good to see the 79 in there too for completeness.
