  1. 2nd comment: Carrion eaters are immensely helpful to other creatures, including humans. They eat, & therefore completely dispose of, rotting flesh, digesting those truly nasty organisms such as ANTHRAX and VARIOUS PLAGUE BADDIES, thus protecting the world from those things! The acids in the stomachs of carrion eaters are much more acidic than what's in OUR STOMACHS, and can pretty much destroy ANYTHING!

  2. The Imperial Amazon from Dominica mates for life. If something happens to one half of the pair, capture or death, sadly very often the other bird will die. They refuse to eat or drink and perish.
    Swans often do the same.

  3. You apparantly do not know what the word 'rare' means. It means that there are very few of something, that they are seldom found. It does NOT mean that something is out of the ordinary or striking. Several of the birds you mentioned, like the golden pheasant are very numerous and common. NOT rare.
