  1. Great, as always! I find drawing the basic outline of an object before working inwards helps keep its proportions right. Also a loose grip on the pencil and, as you said, drawing from the shoulder (or even, daft as it sounds, the hips/knees on larger pieces) makes the drawing smoother.

  2. Hi Michelle. When you take a photograph of a tall building or lighthouse, does the camera capture this phenomenon of it tapering as it gets taller properly? I know that cameras sometimes distort things a bit….just wondering if you copy a photo exactly, will it be correct?

  4. This was a super helpful video. ! Thank you so much. The tip about using a ball point pen over tracing paper (burnisher) to make white fur was one of my many favourites😊 I've saved in my library and shared it to a friend.

  5. Would you be willing to do break these each out into single TikTok videos so I don’t have to watch the whole video at once but rather just each trick separately and thank you so much for this it’s extremely helpful!!!

  6. I am appreciating these tips for the light pencil sketches for watercolor paintings. Without having the base correct, no matter how nice the paint application is, it still won’t look right. I’ve been a fan of yours (and your paints) for a long time now!

  7. I've just discovered you today. Thank you for the wonderful tips! I am not confident with drawing & these will definitely help.
I must ask you what nail polish & colour are you wearing? I love it!
    Thanks again.

  8. You've presented really practical useful drawing techniques, not a bunch of drawn out mumbo jumbo which is all too common. I don't give this praise lightly as I taught art for over thirty years and actually used many of these techniques in my own teaching. Well done.
