Well it was bound to happen at some point. catastrophic failure in the backcountry! we could’ve fixed my sled fairly easy but its supposed to snow for 4-5 days and doubling all the way in to this place would be nightmare! expensive day but will look back on it as a good memory. also the issues with the gen 5 was the reeds.

The 9R I was expecting. However, I’ve seen and heard of more chaincase problems with the Gen 5 than ever. Keeping my fingers crossed on the Shredder and Summit Expert to make it through the season. Hopefully they’ll take the hint in 2024 (doubt it). Maybe something to do with the new way the Drive shaft can come out? Don’t really see why that would be, but that’s the only change 🤷♂️. Most likely just shittier cheaper components. Ya I’m going to go ahead and say that’s it.
yeah that polaris is constantly getting stuck in normal places the doo wouldn't.. iv'e never understood why people like polaris.. esp after riding one
Your videos are amazing. Truly breathtaking and make me love the sport even more. I only wish i could give more likes..
how did you do this double out thats crazy
When do you get your 850R back? More jam!!
Funny how I could tell in the last video and especially in the start of this video that his clutch was not right. Then at the end Kaboom.
Great video ..but 18Liters of spare fuel isnt enough ..those factory stylish gas cans suck ….I bring 2x25L cans ..sometimes more ..its worth the weight .. ..that skydio 2+ does a great job ..you should send links of your vids to skydio, mabie theyll send you some extra batterys ..cheers from west kootenays
Love the heli view! I’m a lineman and have seen that view being suspended under a heli doin line work. Been living and sledding in bc for many years. Nowhere near as skilled as your crew but enjoy your vids ! Keep it up 🍻
And here I'am thinking an expensive Day on the sled is when I blow a belt…
😂
All the jackwagons hating on the sleds need to reset their thinking.
These machines are built to the very edge of performance and the riding you see in videos like this is harder abuse than 95% of the sleds sold in the world will ever endure. Shit is gonna break!
Polaris and SkiDoo have models that wouldn't have broken as we just seen here….. but they probably couldn't have gotten there in the first place! And you certainly wouldn't want to try bowties, hopovers and re-entries on those tanks.
My most impressed part of this video was the double riding. I think we just found the next level for X games. 2-up backflips for the win!
Polaris product
WOW Matt – what a day !!!!
you guys ride doubles pretty damn well! Sucks there was 2 breakdowns but glad you guys made it home safe
Good vid!
gosh those sleds will go places with 2 riders mine won't go with ONE lol
Let’s see a double bow tie! 😂
The friend giving you a ride down the mountain is very skilled! And very friendly 🙂 Its hard riding double
Best episode ever!! 😂😂
One of your best you tubes yet!
Unfortunate, for the broken sleds, but the ride out was hilarious.
My wife and I laughed the whole time!
One thing snowmobiling will teach you is to be humble🤣. When your shit runs good always lend a hand to the guy who's struggling, because you might be the guy needing help in 5 minutes or the next day! Either way, nothing with snowmobiling ever seems like it's "plug and play", always forgetting some gear or the cabin keys, or the propane for the grill. I lost a brand new iphone 13 on the 1st of this year into fresh 6 feet of powder. Gotta love the sport!!!🤣
The footage of the sled flying through the air under the heli has to be one of the greatest shots I've seen in a while, the music makes it! Good on ya for thinking to put a gopro on the sled while it was being flown out 👍🏻
Best video yet matt you guys really Kno what your doing out there in the mountains.. keepem coming
That middle finger was funny aff 😂
Would a can of black or bright paint be good to have in your pack? May never need to mark an LZ but would have a lot of other safety uses too. Not sure if aerosol would work at that altitude?
We have real deep powder here in Alaska
That clutch exploded due to heat with all that WOT most likely
😄😄Best day ever
Tips from a skier for doubling “Canadian” what we call it not sure why…but don’t cross your middle arm and do an underhand grip. The brake man ideally doesn’t have much weight on the bars to let the driver steer. If you gotta sidehill down hill man can throw his back leg on the seat of even drive neutral….love the skills though! I’ve seen some REALLY bad doubles
No riding nuts to buts eh? 😂😅
Cheap cones e crap
Man crazy day, heli sled footage was the best. Little advice from sled snowboarding crew that doubles on the regular.. when riding double let driver have hands on both side of bars like normal. Rider holds mountain bar under drivers arms underhanded with right hand. Then rider lightly holds left bar end lightly. You don’t need full grip just enough to balance. When sidehilling on right side you can switch left hand underhanded to mountain bar and hold lightly on drivers pack pretty much giving him a hug. Hope you don’t get another chance to try it. 🤘
