I do miss the plentiful square bodies 15-25 years ago. Had an opportunity to buy a REAL nice one back in Texas in '95. Was a navy blue '87 Silverado, regular cab, 2 wheel drive, long bed, TBI 350, 700R4 automatic overdrive, manual windows and locks but did have tilt and cruise, digital AM-FM stereo with cassette. Extra clean and like 80K on the clock. Chevy dealer wanted $5995 for it. I ended up getting an '87 Turbo 4-cylinder New Yorker instead for like $3700 from the Honda dealer instead. Definitely should've bought the truck.
Great Episode Mortske…. those old square bodies were diehards. Love seeing MOJO In The Works…And Chin… and of course Duff…And of course The Legend Himself.. And as far as the brake light, here’s one of your answers. If anytime the pedal went to the floor because it bypassed, it would trip the brake light switch. And it stays on, until, and I can’t remember how …to un TripIt. Thanks for your show Mortske.. you’re one of the best. Carry-on.
I do wander if rubbing the steering wheel with goo gone would work I'm sure it's been tried but figured I'd toss out the suggestion just in case. Great vid!
I love watching You and Puddin busting your tails, but when you walked under that low hanging garage door and damn near tore yer head off. I frigging lost it! Laughed till I lost my breath and almost passed out! You need to do a bloopers video, he'll if ya have enough you can do a top ten hosted by Puddin.
Nice save as usual. Back in my time in the Army I had a 79 Buick Century wagon. I lost the key for it and was able to get a key to work one time. I learned the trick was always to shut the car off in gear and then put it in park. That kept me from turning off the ignition all the way. Drove it like that for 3 years before selling it.
I would clean the steering wheel as possible then wrap twice with electrical tape. Cover with a good steering wheel cover. The tape helps to prevent the old rubber from seeping though the cover. Or just order a new one (about $250). I have not had success with cleaning them. They continue to rot to pieces.
I used non-chlorinated brake cleaner and still am amazed at how instantly the stickiness was gone. Don’t know if the non-chlorinated makes a diff but it’s what I had on hand. That was a 80’s dakota wheel but had same sticky as GM. Try it! Lol.
Another quality video by a quality guy. And a quality pup. Really loving how these videos are taking off. The little cutaways and mortske minutes are sweet. To clean those steering wheels try this stuff called Totally Awesome. They sell them in the dollar stores here. It took the goo off my dad's 72 Nova's wheel no problem.
The Canadian Oshawa built truck had the 305 Quadra-jet , no emissions with a 700 -4R Transmission & were pretty reliable. I would rather have the 350 LM-1 but the 305 was more common.

My dad had Rusty Jones undercoating on a 1984 Cutlass Supreme…or maybe it was his 1980 Datsun 210SL.
41:32 yes, that would be the PERFECT area rug, as long as the area you wish to cover is at the bottom of a lake
Great video man your awesome keep up the great work
Thinking it was 84 that had the dimmer on the column as my k20 has it there

Truck really sounds good. 3 degrees! Sitting on my patio in SE Texas, 82 degrees. Love your videos.
Quadrajets have to be one of the best carbs for revivals. They seem to always run.
She’s a lovely Old bird
That shock is a really nice score. Rod Hall is a very famous off-road racer.
Wonder how much SD meth was purchased with that catalytic converter?
Glad video was finally available! Great one as always. Hopefully see you next Monday, always Great start to the week.

You said you'd get back on cathy in the morning!
Denatured Alcohol!?
Master The Steering Wheel = Hockey Stick Grip Wrap Tape. Trust me. Get the good stuff, not China junk.
One of the best small block Chevy's I ever had was the 305 2 barrel out of a Van. It had the triangular looking two barrel don't know what it's called
KIA. Kill it again
(Sees right rear tinworm infestation)
(Sees Rusty Jones sticker)
Yup, checks out, she's rusty.

Yeah I'd like to see you replace the rusted body panels put a few bucks in it and keep this one. It's one of you're more reliable revivals
Sorry about your cat. Didn't the same thing to me they removed my cat on my 89 Ford

Best way to get rid of sticky GM steering wheel: Wear leather mechanic gloves, drive for a couple weeks, sticky goes away.
Love the videos and Duff
My new '77 GMC Sprint (ElCamino) came with a 305 2bbl. But wait, there's more… It had a 2.56 rear end. I did a burnout once; turning right on ice!

Good old Rusty Jones. He might be related to the Brawny paper towel guy? Good stuff!

Simply green on your steering wheels it will cure the problem
Like someone told me once…"that hat needs an oil change."
Gibbons is still around somewhat, there are 2 in Texas I know of. Weatherford and kerrville. I think the parent company died out though.
Sell boat anchor in your Mortske Repair store!
What a good rig. Definitely worth fixing up
Had a 305 Dualjet in my 78 Malibu Classic wagon & it lasted for a long time, always had problems with the accelerator pump though.
