First lake run of my first 1954 Evinrude Super Fastwin ends with a bit of trouble. My 19-something JohnErude 3 or 4 hp Lightwin backup motor was innthe boat and saved the day. I try to carry a backup if I run something I am not completely confident in. I would not normally would have bothered with a backup with the Super Fastwin, but had it for other things I tested today. Good thing I had it, it sure was nice not having to row back in.
