16-year-old found dead in possible homicide, sheriff says

The death of a 16-year-old teen whose body was found on the side of the road is being investigated as a possible homicide, deputies said.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that it’s investigating a possible homicide after the teen’s body was found on the side of Whitehouse Drive in Lincolnton. Whitehouse Drive is located just off the U.S. 321 Business Route near Horseshoe Lake Road, north of downtown Lincolnton.

“We heard a commotion, and it lasted a while and he said there was a bunch of lights and cars,” said Nancy Paulos, who lives nearby referring to several police cars in the area.
