$15K Home Build Update – Our Thai Village

It is another beautiful morning in our village. Today I give an update on Gift’s brother-in-laws status, some good news. I also give an update with some additional information on the $15K Budget Friendly home that is being built across the way from us. Please note that the 15K is based on the exchange rate, when we first started showing the build itself.

The Thai Gift & Foreigner Joe YouTube channel is seen by people from all around the world, which include Thai citizens, Thai/foreign couples and foreigners alike. We post videos of our journey while living in Thailand for the pleasure of our audience only. Our content is not meant to encourage/discourage or influence anyone to travel, live, work, marry, retire, rent, buy, build or own a home in Thailand. Our content covers a wide variety of topics including travel, food, real life stories, informational videos, homes, condos and land for sale or rent and much more. That being said, let’s discuss “Foreigners cannot own land in Thailand”. There are many foreigners who own homes in Thailand with their Thai spouse and/or Thai partner. There are also many Thai citizens who watch the Thai Girl Gift & Foreigner Joe Channel who are interested in home/land rentals and sales. Our video title never says “House, Land or Condo for Sale for “Foreigners”… While there are ways for a foreigner to secure land, before attempting to do so, it is highly encouraged and recommended to seek legal advice on the ways for foreigners to legally secure land in Thailand.

  2. Strokes have different results. Right now, immediately after the stroke, is the worse time. Weeks and months go by, and recovery is happening. Complete recovery? Rare with a serious stroke, but there is a measure of recovery, sometimes dramatic. So now is the worse time. Afterward, it does get better. Certain things that may seen normal have to be relearned. It takes time and a good spirit….

  10. Hi Joe, when my 90 year old mother had a cerebral stroke last year, thank God only her speech was affected. The hospital did not give her anything to eat for about two days. The nurses said that the speech therapist first had to give her authorization before mom could eat for fear she might choke on the food. She was kept hydrated through the IV. Finally, the speech therapist came and with a glass of water had mom take small sips. It was determined that mom could swallow ok and shortly thereafter, she was fed. Mom recovered quickly; now if we could only get her to stop smoking 😠.

  11. Did Gift's brother-in-law has a ICC scanner? Well, is a big concern about sterilized animals in Thailand. Please make a donation; it's not a big deal for tourists as well as cleaning the beach with Trash Heros. Take 1 day of your holidays for it….

  12. Paul was 47 when he had his first stroke. It actually started the day before I took him to the hospital. He was in the hospital for 10 days before coming home. He had right side neglect (face fell and bad coordination problems with leg, arm and hand) He lost his ability to speak. There is a good chance he will recover and most people may never even know he had a stroke. Still sending prayers.

  13. Hi Joe & Gift Thank you very much for the update on Gifts brother in law at least it is some good news.
I am really glad to hear that the dogs are well and the puppies to .
Well the budget house is coming along well now very surprised to see no plug sockets in any of the rooms and I do not remember seeing any light switches at all.
Like you say they need to finish the roof of in those two rooms or is this going to be left as this is to me it is going to be open to when the heavy rain hits the metal roof it is going to be very noisy.
Hope all your neighbours are keeping well.

  14. Very sorry to hear about Gift's brother in law. I'm sure he will able to fully cured since he is still quite young. Most important is to get proper rehabilitation and own will to get better. My father in law also had stroke few years ago and half his body paralysed. He is better now except for his right hand which is quite weak but he could walk around and do daily chores and drive his car. If not mistaken he got the stroke at the age of late 70's, he is over 80 now.

  15. I have full confidence that with a little hard work and the right therapy Aui will make a remarkable recovery. There have been interesting studies done on simple things like seduku and basic puzzles helping the brain to learn and form new conduits, bypassing bad sections. It is important to push him, but not too hard that he gets frustrated! The body is a miraculous thing, given a chance, tell Gift not to worry, and to keep dancing. Your positive energy not only helps us, it will inspire the bother-in-law and her sister, who is also in need of support. My thoughts and prayers may not be much, but they are with all of you in these challenging times 🙏

  16. Wish the best for Gift's family member. With regards to no food for two days, I am not a Dr. but not consuming food (even water) frees up your bodies energy and resources that would have been put towards digestion to go towards the areas that need healing.

One way to understand this is if you eat two pizzas, ice cream and drinks. You go into a food coma. That is an extreme example of showing how many resources it takes a person to digest food. Upwards of 70%.

An example of when a body restricts food, and sometimes water to heal is when you get very sick and you lose your appetitive. That is your body in "war" mode. No resources put towards digestion, all resources are required elsewhere.

    Hope that makes sense 😛

  17. Proper insulation is seldom used in Thailand. Thai houses can be built for very little money but can be expensive to cool during the hotter seasons. Often "budget-friendly" houses will have exposed plumbing and electric, inside and out.

  18. Please Joe, give that mother dog some fatty fried chickens. She looks like she is giving all of her life force to those many puppies of hers. Maybe some specialty formulated dog kibbles for nursing mamma doggy. I will be in your debt if you fatten her up for me and find good homes for all those adorable puppies.
