I wonder if “four friends and a key” means “four friends and a chi.” Since they encountered a (or THE) Keyblade War, maybe Subject X was talking about the chi blade.
Subject X has so many connections to new potential story arcs. Can't wait for the reveal and then the ramifications.

I personally lean on the idea that Subject X is a new character. Or maybe Nameless Star. I actually really like the idea that Nameless Star is Subject X. It does need a few hoop jumps but honestly every character that could be Subject X need hoop jumps.
However I have come up with a theory on how Skuld could be Subject X.
I think that it is possible that Brain is going to mess with the Sleeping Data version of Daybreak Town in Missing Link. I think that is how Emblem Heartless are going to show up in Missing Link and likely why they are still there in Dark Road. I do think we will need a flash forward explaining how the Emblem Heartless disappeared after Dark Road but that is a different conversation all together.
Brain messing with the Sleeping Data Daybreak Town to try and save the Dandelions would also likely unleash the four Darknesses that where trapped there by Player.
Anyway I think that it is possible that while he is messing with the Data that he finds the Data version of Skuld, and maybe some of his other friends, and saves it in a easier to reach computer. A computer that Luxu ends up getting.
Luxu likely has the ability to give Data people Bodies. After all with all the Body hopping he does he likely has a very deep understanding of how the body works in the KH setting. If Luxu has a copy of Skuld's data then he could in theory make as many Skulds as he wants. All he needs to do is have them interact with people, thus growing a new heart and BAM new twin of Skuld is running around.
So yeah that is my theory on how Skuld could be Subject X. However I don't really think that they are the same person. I think that Subject X is the Nameless Star.
As for Ava. My best guess for her is that she is in the Realm of Darkness using the fact that aging doesn't happen there. After all I very much believe that Someone or Something important is in the Realm of Darkness and that is part of the reason the Wayfinder trio are there looking. It's going to be part of their storyline in the next Saga. Now this doesn't really need to be Ava. However I like it being her more then basically every other theory I have heard about what is going on with Ava. Expect maybe the joke theory that Ava is Sora's mother.
As for Ava's age. I honestly think that although she is the youngest of the foretellers, that she is in fact an adult, and no longer growing. We have had short slim characters before who are adults, granted most of them are Disney characters. However given that Gula likely has some sort of connection to Ventus. Given that they are both from the same time period and they feel a lot alike. Gula and Ava being children just doesn't sit completely right. Yes KH could make it work. However it would feel very weird for Ava to be a pre teen. I am honestly thinking her at least a late teenager. Though I also wouldn't be completely against the idea that she isn't completely human and as such doesn't age right.
Oh man check this theory: the reason xion looks like skuld is because of ventas’s old memories. BAM 💥 Mind blown
The black box having the "clothing" of the foretellers in it has been a theory of mine for years. That's why luxu seemed so surprised by moms whispered explanation.

What's up Landi. This episode got my head spinning. Had to keep pausing to look at the sky and think, literally.
Side note : the word Crown can be a verb too, right? If someone crowns a total of 7 people, that act of crowning each of them could be considered a total of "7 crowns", as a result.
How about this : What if the 7 Crowns are simply 7 moments, perhaps 7 chess matches, 7 wars, 7 strong friendships, or something. My mind went to "7 candidates for child of destiny, as the MoM waits for it all to unfold". Because he might not know everything, but he might know he can figure it out.

What's in the black box could be the medium to bring the master back. What did the master leave behind so he can put it in the box? He gave his keyblade to luxu, he also put his eye on the keyblade. So what is it?
Subject x could be kairi or kairi grandmother because it seems that the grandmother never left radiant garden castle and give time too talk to Lea and Isa until she's of old age, and maybe kairi but after seeing melody of memories where that version of xehanort sent her away so not kairi. So that leaves the grandmother aka ava maybe and probably skuld even though she might have been sent to quadratum so I don't know anything is a possibility.
What if xion is skuld nobody.
On the comment about how Skuld reformed her body, I have a theory.
Ventus, Laurium, and Skuld’s bodies reformed by essentially cannibalizing their memories and their keyblades to reform their bodies, which is why they can’t remember UX. We could assume the same is true for Elrena, but her ending monologue in 3 implies that she has had at least some of her memories the whole time
I'm enjoying a full workday in the lodge with the string of episodes drops on Spotify! I just want to drop my 2 cents in a say I'm on team skuld for subject x and to clear up the time dispute I would say luxu took her back to just before the missing link era by way of xheanort's arc machine he used to send kairi to radiant garden. So I think it's very possible that skuld is time traveling from 2 different arcs to different eras where it's out of sight from the master and probably xheanort too!
