It seems that it would be something other than worship of false gods since that had been common for so long. I have looked for writings that might hint at what he was so sternly warning the new churches about. Your thoughts?
It's sad how the Roman's thought of other cultures and how they pushed their beliefs around the known world, destroying existing culture that had been around since before they even rose to power.
