Fairytales are something we’ve all grown up with… telling stories of fantastical kingdoms with often dark undertones… but, while most of them were created for entertainment, or to teach morals to children, many of the settings are, surprisingly, far more realistic. Most of the legends originated in Europe where, at the time, they were seen as fables based in real world places, and many of the villages that inspired these environments can still be seen today. It’s time to grab your glass slippers, and be very wary of anyone offering you apples, or who live in gingerbread houses… as we take a tour of the 15 most gorgeous European Fairytale Towns.

Fairytal ?
Vaticaan !
There is a mistake at the end _number one? Germany ☆ Birbury England? @top fives
Visby, Gotland
Perfectly amazing
Not even one italian city? 🙁
Nice, but what a weird selection of fairy tale European towns. The only one that might be included in a top15 is Sintra.
I can name at least 200 better alternatives.
Why Gent and not Venice, Strassburg or Edinburgh? If this was meant for small towns, not big cities, then Gent (260.000 inhabitants) should not be on this list at all. There are zillions of big cities far more fairytale than Gent. Brugge been one of them in Belgium.
There are at least 250 small villages in Europa more interesting than Giethoorn.
In France there are also many like Colmar
As for Germany, towns like Cochem
Bernkastel Kues-Goslar-Wernigerode-Quedliburg-TrierMonschau and Fussen/Schwangau ,including Neuschwanstein, the white castle at the end of this film, are much better options.Spain-Poland-Norway-Kroatia-Romania-Bulgaria also have a lot to offer.
Must admit it is difficult to make the right choices, but if you only know a limited number of European countries and not very well, then you should have left the MOST out of, 15 Most Gorgeous European Fairytale Towns.
Hey the spelling is incorrect – it's Bibury not Bilbury 🙂
Wow nice place😍
Successful people don't become that way overnight. What most people see at a glance- wealth, a great career, purpose-is the result of hard work and hustle over time. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life..
Germany’s geography is undoubtedly totally hit groups . Unfortunately, the people in general are not so wonderful… cause of both world wars…
A real land of fairy tales…👍❤
Gerona – Spain
Not including Cesky Krumlov is a big mistake, since it could very easily compete with Sintra and Rothenburg. Just compare it on Google.
The name of the number one doesn't match between the displayed name (wrong) and the mentioned one (correct).
WoW pretty good places
they need somw diversity
What about Annecy France?
Nice video but the mangling of the names in the thick North America accent was a little difficult to bear.
Awesome 👌…million thanks
Europe is really beautiful.
Delft is unfortunately not included!
I've been struggling with insomnia, but this video has been a great way to relax and fall asleep. The soothing music and peaceful imagery are just what I need🙂🙂

We were in Mostar in 2004 and the bridge was rebuilt , not 2005.
11:20 FOLLIES!!! There's no such thing as a foley! A building that doesn't serve much practical purpose, but is built extravagantly for ornamental and aesthetic reasons is called a "folly"! C'mon Top Fives!
Was lucky enough to go to two of these places on my first two trips to Europe from the US in 2019: Positano and Ghent! Still two of the most beautiful places I've been in my life! Loved everywhere I went in Germany, too! Can't wait to go back!
Valldemoussa, Mallorca, Spain 🇪🇸 should’ve been on this list. The disrespect
Whot about Italian Bergamo, Siena and polish Kazimierz, Sandomierz and Sopot?

When you called Colmar a village, I had to laugh: it has been a free imperial city since 1226 and was already mentioned as a city by Charlemagne' son in 823! But thank you very much for including it in the 15 most gorgeous Euroepan fairytale town :-).
Чудесно…
An honorable mention should be Carcassonne, France, the only remaining intact, fortified and walled in Medieval city there that survived the unification of France by Louis IV. It had been an independent Duchy but surrendered to the Sun King rather than be destroyed. It's a very charming little city where people still live and is also a world heritage site.
Very nice video
And as usual Romania is underrated, somebody didn't hear of a medieval town called Sighișoara. There are others beautiful towns there but this one is the most visited.
As an Indian iam literally obsessed with almost all the European countries it's my dream to visit atleast half of European countries in my life 🤞thier beauty is beyond words 😍
8 of ten are German towns.
As an Aussie travelling and cruising around one place I thought was beautiful cruising into was Montenegro , it was very picturesque.
I recognize that voice! This is the narrator of “Simple History”.
When I visited Rothenburg, Germany, it truly looked liked a fairytale town.
Europe will soon become a jungle.
👌👌👌👌❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹👍👍👍
