  1. I can't tell you how critical it was to take screenshots for your trip. We lost so many reservations including hotel and park reservations. We had 4 adults, 4 devices and often only one of our my Disney apps would show a reservation. Having 4 devices was a life saver for virtual ques and individual attraction rides! Grab your kid's kindles and whatever other devices you can use and use them for backups!

  2. There used to be this guy in Hollywood Studios — D. C. Matthews — who hung out near the Brown Derby restaurant and drew caricature art for park guests. I got one done of myself during me and my Sister's 40th Birthday visit to the parks. If there are any other artists like these at Disney, this is another great souvenir to get!

  3. Best decision i made recently was skipping hollywood studios fireworks and instead went on rise of the resistance a few minutes before the fireworks were due to start. Literally walked straight on the ride and it meant i didn’t have to pay for a lightning line pass 😂

  4. Take time to slow down. It’s vacation. Take in the scenery and enjoy. We run run run in life and then we run run run in Disney. Take a day or even an hour to just slow down. Your body and mind will thank you ☺️

  5. The best advice I can give people is to be smart with your time and energy. For example, if there's a queue for a ride over 30 mins, go and do something else, and keep an eye on ride times on the Disney App. Expedition Everest, for example, can go from 2 hours in the early afternoon to walk on by 6 pm. There's SO MUCH to do in Disney World – don't worry about missing out on something right that moment. Come back later. The evenings are a great time to come and see Galaxy's Edge (which is just too busy to enjoy during the morning and afternoon, IMO). Again, Rise of the Resistance can go from 170 minutes at 2pm to 20 mins if you're lucky (true story) in the evening. And the lighting and atmosphere is always better at night.

Also, slow down and absorb the theming, the atmosphere, the little details. I saw so many people rushing around and missing out on the amazing imagineering all around them. This is especially true in Epcot and Animal Kingdom.

Finally, Genie Plus is somewhat helpful for Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, but isn't essential if you just keep watching the wait times on the Disney App. Guardians Cosmic Rewind is absolutely worth getting up at 7am to book your boarding pass for every day you plan spending at Epcot, but DO NOT TRUST the initial time window that the boarding pass gives you, ie, 5 hours from now. It will change and come forward and the app might not tell you – it never notified us the 3 times we booked it. So check on your boarding time periodically, every 20 minutes once you get into the park first thing in the morning. Guaranteed they'll call you an hour or more ahead of schedule!

  6. Chapek is an embarrassment to the Disney name and ought to be ousted. They are going down the tubes fast and losing a lot of Disney fans, including me, in the process. I was supposed to leave in a few days for a trip to WDW but canceled a few months ago because I have grown so fed up with them and their BS. They are pricing themselves right out of business and the morons who will still pay these prices are also to blame.

  7. You guys are really right on the getting up early bit. I am not a morning person it hurts to wake up early and previously as two adults we would just get to the parks when we got to the parks. Not super late but like 10 or 11. The last trip we tried to do rope drops several times to make sure we got on certain rods and I was really blown away how much more time we get in the parks it really feels like almost an additional day especially when you can hop on all those those rides so quickly. It totally changes the rest of your day because then you can be a lot more leisurely and enjoy more of the day. It hurts lol, but you got to do it to get the best experience!

  8. Also one tip on the Mickey wake up call do not rely on the Mickey wake up call to wake you up I have scheduled it several times, and then not receive the wake up calls! Do not count on that alone to wake you up set an alarm!

  9. I have one caveat to your suggestion about using the Riviera Skyliner Station depending on your location at Caribbean Beach. We made this mistake when staying there one morning and went to Riviera. I don't know if this is an "always" thing anymore, but at that time they weren't opening the Riviera station at the same time as Caribbean Beach. So we ending up having to walk ALL the way back around the entire resort to get to the other station. Be sure to check with a cast member before you head to the station just to be sure!

  10. It would be great if you could choose different characters for the "mickey alarm", if I heard Vader breathing into the phone in the morning I'd be right up. XD

  11. We just got back – couple of things restaurant wise:

Ohana – This was our only "Disappointing" reservation – the food just wasn't up to its usual awesomeness. Maybe just an off night.
Steakhouse 71 – GO! It was delicious and more kid friendly than I expected it to be.
Topolino's Terrace – If you're waffling between Chef Mickey's and this one, go to Topolino's Terrace at the Rivera. Reservations are hard to get, but the food was 10x better than Chef Mickey's and I think a touch cheaper. You only get Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy as characters, but the food (and the view) makes up for it.
Space 200 – Another hard reservation, but the experience and food are worth the extra money you'll pay for it.
Morimoto Asia – This was a fun restaurant and delicious. You'll have to leave your comfort zone for the menu a bit, but we enjoyed it.

  12. When it's open, I always plan for a relaxing tea in the Grand Floridian tea room. It's just as good as a pool afternoon.

Also, if you're in Animal Kingdom when it's raining, head for the Asia walkthrough. Those animals love rain and they come out to play!

  13. Thanks for keeping me updated on how to do Walt Disney World. My first Disneyland visit was in 1972 and I made it to Walt Disney World in 1986. During those years it was quite possible to just show up at the gate, purchase a ticket, and have a fun time in about six hours. "Spontaneous" is no longer an option. Prior planning is a must. I'm surprised that there's no Disney app for reservations in the bathrooms–plan your potty stops six months in advance.

  14. When you’re doing the festival food map food crawls, I’ve been told by cast members you don’t have to get one of each of every item, you can get three of the same and two others or all five of the same one 👍🏼😋

  15. A 15th? Take out an account to TouringPlans a year before your trip. Time is money – and it will save you plenty of both. It's less than the cost of most Disney quick service lunches. I used it (before Covid and Genie+) to get a good idea of just how much I could accomplish in each park. Another tip – make hard copies of all your plans and carry them in your backpack / bag / fanny pack / etc.
