First a small postponement, then a second … then news of something to be revised in the propulsion system of the Space Launch System rocket …
And immediately there was controversy and innuendo about the inability of today’s NASA to repeat the feats achieved by Apollo-era NASA.
Of course, these were completely wrong compulsive reactions. It is not fair to think that because we went to the Moon over half a century ago, it should be even easier today — nor is it fair to think that the culture of rocket building has been lost. On the contrary… Ok, the Space Launch System has been shown to have problems with the engines, which are the revamped and modified version of those of the Space Shuttle. But this does not mean that the engines are obsolete and that NASA wanted to economize on innovation … In fact, it was rightly planned to take advantage of the positive experiences of the more than one hundred shuttle missions. Exactly as they did at NASA for the Gemini, Mercury, and Apollo space programs, which exploited some of the far less positive experiences of the Atlas and Redstone launchers, which were created to carry nuclear devices.

I think this fighting over landing spots and potential bases on the Moon is such a shortsighted and moot point that only a Nationalist Politician could make. Reality is no matter who gets up there first to set up a base and no matter the spot we choose; whichever nation(s) manage this will only have short term control over these spots. It will be a new age of colonisation and expansion with in a few decades of being established and as soon as that happens those bases and colonies will start to push for Independence and the right to Self Govern like any other Nation. It will take a few generations but as soon as people start identifying Luna as home and not just a mission/tourist destination; it will look more and more like a Nation then a Colony. This is why I think the fighting is pointless, and think they should both just suck it up and learn to cooperate even on a limited capacity at first. The more they establish and the more they make their bases about to integrate and expand into a single massive colony with ease the less dependent the new Luna based nation(s) will be on Earth for aid and support which will strengthen all economies involved if they do not fear having a bail out a nation where currently every pound of relief we send cost 1000 times more to send to the moon than anywhere else on Earth, plus reminding a new nation how much of their initial infrastructure was a "gift" of your nation is a great way to grease the wheels of all the new industry and products that will come out of moon colonies; get yourselves some of the H3 or Solar Wind Hardened/Shielded Processors for your reactor tech back on Earth at wholesale baby!
Good old government meddling in scientific advancement yet again, will they ever learn?
Okay, let's get Insanely Curious! ✔
Just found your channel yesterday. I love the content!
The last time America went to the moon, the project was ran by engineers motivated by patriotism.
This time the project is ran by businessmen motivated by profit.
And, regarding Chinese lunar mission, American will bring weapons to solve the problem, like they always do. If America can create wars all over the world for the past 200 years, I am not surprised if they are willing to bring it to the moon.
Well, someone's been putting in the long hours! Well done Lorenzo. 🤩
It should be easy using yesterday proven tech but that doesn't seem to be the case.
China under the CCP is stealing everything, sucking down all data from any server, getting what it wants. They do whatever NASA intended to do, but quicker and more extensive. So what ever NASA is doing, the CCP will be there before, in greater extend, with more labour on earth and with more money available. The CCP wants to become the number 1 organization in the universe. And it seems it will get what it wants.
Why would you fly two separate ships to the Moon rather than one as we did in the Apollo?
Why do you need a orbiting space station to support a moon landing?
THE CHINESE ARE INHERENTLY INCOMPETENT IN HIGH TECH CAPABILITY, I DOUBT THAT ANY TOTALITARIAN STATE THAT PUNISHES FAILURE SO SEVERELY INSTEAD OF UTILIZING IT AS A LEARNING PROCESS TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE AND CONSTRUCTIVE EXPERIENCE TO ACHIEVE TRUE, TANGIBLE RESULTS AND FINAL SUCCESS WILL EVER CONQUER THE DIFFICULTIES OF SPACE AND THE INHERENT UNFORGIVING PARAMETERS OF ITS NATURE. SO NO WAY JOSE WILL THEY, THE COMMIES, SUCCEED.
Ill say it. Humans will start the first space war we know of lol and it will be between themselves
Ah China owns the moon just like they own Taiwan… not so much!
It seems that anything involving humanity fails to be peaceful, unfortunately.
There is always a problem with china. The failed equipment probably made in china
after breaking water up into hydrogen and oxygen, you will need to fully use both of them for use as rocket fuel. There will be no excess oxygen for other uses unless some of the hydrogen is not used as fuel unless fusion is working as an energy generation scource.
Another source for oxygen would be when we start refining metals like aluminum from lunar soil where those metals exist in oxidized form.
Mmmm
I have my doubts about moon in 1960’s…..
Great video !
This is the biggest things humans ever tried so PLEASE talk to each other and do a joint or semi-joint mission for better success
china is not a problem , let them do their own science . if NASA is afraid its silly / selfish / self centered . don't expect only America deserves to be one 1 in every thing . no wonder NASA is hurrying up to go to moon all over again . find another spot if its really required to
Wherever they land. Needs to be close to one of those old bases on the moon . To be able to establish a fast base. To defend from the Chinese troops!
Better go where there was activity back in the 60-70s! Chinese are going for these sites. To make the moon Operational! If they do, they will Rule the earth !
Total domination! China already lost at least one crew. Don't have much time people!
Let's wait for the first succesfull launch and space flight of the Orion Spacecraft.
Then we can find a region on the moon to land.
I think, we should absolutely collaborate – collaboration in space could lead to collaboration & reconciliation on earth… we should take the opportunity to work together. 🚀
It’s interesting and absolutely relevant to discuss how politics can and already appears to obstruct space exploration in such in explicit & exacting way. ☮️
I think we should get there and take what we want
the music is annoying af
Elon musk will beat them both and work with nasa.
First come first serve.
It is hard to go to the Moon today. Yet I would be much easier had we never stopped. We'd be much further out had we never stopped also.
I have heard that the Moon actually belongs to China. It turns out that the moon is within the boundary of the South China Sea. Thus making it part of China
The discovery of water ice on the moon is a fairly new one and mapping its locations is even more recent. Other Recent studies indicate that there may be more water on the moon at depths deeper than those findings. To date there have been no studies if water ice exists in other locations like lave tubes and caves. There are 10 upcoming CLPS missions that may give better data on the locations of water ice. New discoveries potentially could negate any future conflicts for resources. Also, NASA may be prevented from collaboration due to tech theft but if is not prevented from coordination to prevent incidents.
NASA has completely forgotten the missions that never happened with Apollo. So, that is why they are so carefull not to screw up because this is their first flight to the Moon or should I say around the Moon without astronauts which is very strange as they claim they've been there before.
