  1. My head-canon / movie setup for this battle: The elves form a coalition to end the zombie hoard trying to eat their donut. Upon engaging in battle, their dragons, spells, and highly skilled warriors make short work of the undead. When they think the battle is won, only then do they realize their folly and the true extent of the threat as swarms of zombies emerge from the forests and wipe out the elven forces.

  2. Yeah, your new PC would presumably run this at a more-or-less identical framerate. I say this because… well… it's already running at a fairly steady FPS in this video. The camera is absolutely whizzing around the map with just a little stuttering/choppiness. It's mostly just the combat that is being (intentionally) rendered at a lower frame rate, and it seems kinda likely that this is built into the engine and scales with the number of entities (rather than being constrained by resources – seems like they're trying rather hard to avoid that). There might be a way to tweak it, but I wouldn't know where to start. Or I might be completely wrong. Who knows. Food for thought, anyway. Don't get your hopes up.

  3. Asking because I am curious rather than trying to be a backseat gamer, but any idea why Legend doesn't do a locked control group attack? If he did, that will auto spread the units out with the initial attack order, then he can always still group them tighter as needed with only a couple follow up orders and it would make flanking really easy. Or am I way off base?

Edit: Just for clarity, Legend is way, way, way, way better at this game than I am of course, which is why I am asking.

  4. I remember doing this back in the TW 1 days against the Wood elves because I got sick of them sniping my high value units every battle. Needles so say, watching an elf run out of ammo before you run out of bodies and watching said bodies surround and slowly drive said elves to despair and death brought me a joy that would make Slaanesh go "Woah, calm down"

  5. I remember having one Ravenous Dead Zombie army last time I played with The Barrow Legion. It was so durable due to The Hunger that I could just forget the zombies in the fight and play "Murder Everyone" with the lord and heroes…

  6. this has now gone into ridiculous territory. Elves looking out at the ocean of zombies on the field of battle on their dragons going "the Sea batters against the rocks making them crumble, today we are the rocks"

  7. Now i want a medieval zombie apocalypse game where you're commanding an army against hordes of zombies.

And add a mission mode where you're on the defense, so you've got fortifications and you've gotta keep the ramparts fed with reinforcements so your ranged units don't get swarmed.

  8. You know… when you went in close and turned on Cinema mode, that's kinda what I imagine how lore accurate Vampire count armies fight. Just casually sending in 12164 zombies onto your enemy and following up with skeletons and bats, and then finishing them off with Vampires like Bloodknights. XD
