The mayor of Hartford, Connecticut, chokes up after a 12-year-old girl, Secret Pierce, was shot and killed. “This is a painful day in our community,” he said in a press conference. Police say the 7th grader was shot in the head and stomach. She later died from her injuries at the hospital. “”She was in a parked vehicle. There were three other males on the sidewalk that were hit. And she had nothing to do with it,” Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert said.

It is very sad that an innocent young girl was killed, for the girl and especially for her grandmother who now has to live with this daily after her son – the girls father – was also gunned down a decade ago – – but that’s life in black-hoods. This typically wouldn’t have happened in a white neighborhood…..
