Babylonians were ruled by a cruel king called Nimrod. He boasted about the wealth and sultanate he had and claimed that he was a deity acting upon his wealth. In the Hebrew and Christian tradition, Nimrod is considered the leader of the people who built the Tower of Babel in the land of Mesopotamia. Nimrod became extremely arrogant due to his wealth and power, to the point that he made the claim that he possessed the power of creation and claimed divinity for himself. Nimrod proclaimed himself as a living god and was worshipped as such by his subjects.
