An interesting thing to note about the line of sight and casualty thing, you cant just stick a special or heavy weapon out from behind cover and then use the rest of the squad of as meatshields. Theres gonna be actual risk to putting your models in the line of fire. Mostly gonna affect marines, guard, etc.
In regards to the datasheet variety, we do have the screamer killer datasheet which could be used to spice things up. Guard do also have the baneblade if you want to go to that level. I'll have to hunt down other nid data sheets though i think thats all the full ones we have
I love the new guard reinforce strat rewarding you for sending waves of men hopelessly into the grinder. Feels very guard.

You must do a 2000 point game of guard vs space marines sir or tyranids if you have to I guess but I vote for guard on marines action.Think of Baneblade vs landraider it would be glorious dare I say mordian glorious

I think FRFSRF is made for units who stayed stationary. Coupled with the "Born soldier" detachement rule it can work nicely.

Where is the new LOS rule? I haven’t heard of this yet? I thought it was that models not in LOS get a cover save when targetted , wounds still spill?
