100% Blind Fullmetal Alchemist Review: Mustang the GOAT! (Part 2)

This is my 100% blind read through of Fullmetal Alchemist. I’ve never watched the anime or read the manga before so I figured now is the time to check out one of the most critically successful stories to come out of Japan in the last 20 years! Will Edward, Alphonse, Winry, Mustang and the gang be able to unearth the mystery behind the philosopher’s stone and restore their bodies? Only time will tell!

  2. I hope the next video covers that last part of that last chapter a bit more. I could be wrong, but I feel like there was something important after the arrival of Scar and "the little girl" that had to do with the little girl.

  3. Edwards dad was at least partly right. People are emotional and complicated. As much as we pretend we are rational beings above all how we feel about something or someone does change how we act. So there rarely is just one reason we do things. We do things cause we think it is a good idea but also cause its the mornings and we like shopping in the morning or cause the cute guy works in the morning or etc…

  4. so i never read the manga for FMA but watch the Anime several times over, is mark just speed reading or does the manga not show the door of truth and "Truth" itself? because i could of sword that truth was shown in like episode 2 or 3 so dont get why he is having a theory of truth being a person when that was already shown to us?

  5. Want to know what's the most cruel part of mina's tragedy?

It's so sad and scarring i need to warn you about it, if you still want to know, look down

Are you sure you want to continue?

    Last warning

Here it is: mina's tragedy was for absolutely nothing, it was to try develop working quimeras, but the truth is…the goverment already knows how to create succesful quimeras, possibly centuries ago, greed learned from their father, and he did many of them without turning like her, however, they still allowed tucker experiment with living beings, he was just a cover for plausible deniability of military technology, so they can claim to the public they don't know how to do quimeras, mina died for nothing, the irony

  6. From the forest portion of this 'Father Arc' (if you will), I was reading this manga monthly as it was being published. FMA: Brotherhood hadn't been announced but…. after the Underground Arc, I swore to my older brother that this would get another adaptation. He told me it would never happen. 🙂

Still my favorite anime and manga series ever!

  7. Boy you took a really long time to mention anything about Ling, even though he's clearly established as an important character upon his reveal. I also wish you would have talked more about Winry; there's quite a few iconic scenes with her, even before the big reveal regarding her parents deaths.

  8. The girl has eastern alchemy. And while not the best cjaracte, she has a place. She alsobplays off well characters.
And why does eastern alchemy work there? I think she too calls the countries alchem, as " feeling wrong".

  9. I'm kind of with you Mark… this is where the series goes WAY off the rails for me. The series is excellent, but without ruining anything, your theory actually would have been a better path IMO. As you'll see later, the god-like duder is actually completely irrelevant in the grand scope of things and Hohenheim could have replaced him, did everything he's still doing, and it wouldn't have broken the motivations provided they altered a few things here and there. As a series that is so character driven, I find duder to be lacking.

My personal theory before everything blew up in my face was the Hohenheim was actually a homunculus (Sloth) and the god-like duder was his original body.

  10. I'm sure someone has mentioned this in the comments somewhere, but, what's extra funny about Lust's death in the English dub, is that her voice, actress, Laura Bailey, and Roy Mustang's voice actor, Travis Willingham, are married! That's hilarious! It was also super adorable, because Laura recorded first, and Travis kept having to call/or text her to see if she was OK, because he was worried about her, because he was hearing her scream bloody murder, while he burned her alive. They're so adorable! They're fucking nerds! 😀

  11. As someone who actually went to film school it annoys the fuck out of me to hear you constantly claim to be an expert on storytelling because you read some shit on the internet.
