Join us as we restore an old farmhouse and land in the mountains of Southern Spain, creating a home, a place to share with others and learning to live sustainably off the land. Near Oria in Almeria the driest region of Europe it will have challenges. Renovating a 200 year old cortijo that hasn’t been lived in for over 10 years will be a challenge as we are novices.
This week we had rain, snow and sunshine, Dave comes back, we get stuff we need second hand and meet the local shepherd. This will be the last week of clearing the house of old furniture in preparation for the demolition work to start.

Nice to see your glamorous assistant back 😁. Spider webs are good, it means everything is dry 🕷️. Also the first harvest of figs are 'brevas' & the second harvest are 'higos', different flavours.

Snow 🥶 we specifically chose this area because we didn't want snow ❄️ it's pretty to look at but I hate the stuff. I miss my little dog 🐕 lovely to see yours ♥️ The sand was bad this year.. what a mess on those walls.. you certainly have your work cut out for you. 😁
