  1. who thought ocarina of time's ending was suggesting a time loop? everyone recognised it was him going to meet her again to this time warn about ganondorf's plans and then majora's mask carries on a little ish later with him now having made sure that bad future doesn't happen (only to still carry on further having a troubled life rather than the peaceful one zelda thought she was giving him by sending him back in time)

  2. Slight correction: Donkey Kong debuted in 1981. Mario Bris was released in 1983. Super Mario Bros debuted with the NES in 1985, so that’s a 4-year gap between that and Donkey Kong.

  3. I think its funny that anyone needed the spoonfeeding regarding Nero. His Devil Trigger appearance and his synergy with Yamato make it pretty obvious, and Dante literally refers to Nero as family towards the end of the game.

The Red not being Ashe thing reeks of retcon from Gamefreak. Aesthetic and narrative are near carbon copy, the personality differences only existing because the games protagonist is an empty shell for the player, and "Ashe" is a character in a children's anime.

  4. Red is actually only the default name of the trainer for Pokemon Red for Blue its Blue. Also the original NES super Mario Bros. Game booklet (yes I am that old) clearly calims he was a plumber from New York. Who followed a call for help from a pipe. So if you accept that its been retconned to be the Mushroom Kingdom then you must accept that it was Retconned back to Earth. Meaning that sorry current Canon and therefore the only one that matters is that he is indeed from New York on Earth.

  5. I never thought at any point that all the humans died in FF7's ending. The only thing it showed as a ruined city. There are countless reasons why Midgar was never rebuilt, I personally believe that the city was irreparable and was abandoned. I am actually surprised why Red X111 went there. That wasn't something I knew, it is a very pleasant surprise.

  6. Yes…. Let's compare the personality of an anime character to a completely silent, non-interactive and otherwise undeveloped videogame character. Where in the f did you get a personality profile for Red 😂😂😂 honestly, I swear you guys just make nonsense up to fill a list sometimes!

  7. Im still convinced Nintendo never actually had a plot thread in place for LoZ, or at least they only had a rough idea on a crumpled up piece of loose leaf, because even with that explanation and the Hyrule Historia it just seems way too convoluted.

  8. duh Red doesn't talk (even when he shows up in later games), Ash never shuts up (also the reason Ash got the uncontrollable pikachu is the other three starters had already been picked so he got to the lab right after Red, Blue, and another trainer left)

  9. See, I know that Red and Blue's protagonist is Red, and that his rival is Blue. The question is, is the protagonist of Yellow Ash Ketchum, and if so, does that confirm his rival is Gary Oak?

  10. Everyone gets Castlevania's plot wrong because it's been retconned AT LEAST twice. Depending on which chronology you go by, the Belmont Clan's progenitor is either Gabriel, Juste, or Sonia. I'm a fan of the first timeline Konami came up with, that Sonia started the Belmont clan with Alucard himself, making the Belmont clan actually related to Dracula.

  11. I think although its implied that mario and luigi were born in the mushroom kingdom… is likely… they ended up in there as babies and by the end got returned to their parents in their version of our world. as we all know babies dont come from storks. so its likely they got lost in the first place and the bird was returning them?

another alternative would be, mario and luigi were born in the mushroom kingdom and the stork was trying to take them off it, by the end of the game they are delivered to a couple in brooklyn and they adopted them.

  12. I'm fairly sure Medic chose to undergo the procedure and mind wipe. Unfortunately, after the mind wipe, he forgot what he agreed to and genuinely believed he was Big Boss.

  13. I really wish you guys would be consistent with adding timestamps. It'd be much better if we could see which games are going to be talked about to avoid spoilers.

  14. About your MegaMan X entry…

What Zero hears in his dream at the start of X4 makes it clear that Dr. Wily created him to defeat classic MegaMan, and by extension, Dr. Light's greatest creation: X. There's nothing confusing or hidden about that.

Likewise: you seem to make it sound like Zero is the source of the Mavericks. Then how was Sigma already a top-level Maverick Hunter (stated in X1's manual) before Zero's capsule was ever discovered? A Maverick is any Reploid that is deemed to be a threat. This can be due to something that corrupted their AI like a virus or brain damage; or it can be by choice: such as how Repliforce felt they had no choice but to fight for self-preservation. The Virus engineered by Wily, carried in Zero, and evolved with Sigma, caused AI corruption; but it was neither the original or sole reason any Reploid went Maverick.

  15. 4:25 Eh, that's a bit overblown…

Zero was never "the bad guy", but rather he was just another pawn in the long list of Dr. Wily's schemes. Even when it's uncovered that Zero's presence might have been giving rise to mavericks, both before he was originally discovered and during his time as a Maverick Hunter, he was still an unwilling subject in the whole thing. I'd say it's more apt to say "Zero was the origin point of the Mavericks" and leave it at that.

Heck, during the Megaman Zero timeline it's revealed that, after discovering the "flaw" within his systems, he ended up sacrificing himself by putting his original body into stasis – so as to hopefully get rid of the Maverick virus once and for all.

  16. You fight Venom Snake in Metal Gear and you fight Big Boss in Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. It's explained at the end of MGS4, which also explained how he was kept alive in a medically-induced coma. It also explained Luquid's peculiar reaction in MGS1 when Big Boss was implied to as having perished in the events of MG2

  18. Can anyone explain to me why Kratos’ rank as the youngest Captain ever to lead an army was retconned to being the youngest General to lead his army? The 2005 game narrator before she was cast as Gaia in the sequel explained him as a Captain, but the sequel and everything beyond had him as a General. I don’t know which ranking General as I don’t think the writers went that in depth, but clearly states one of the top Officers.

  19. For FFVII you seriously went with "What happened to Midgar?"….the thing far more people get wrong than that (and is actually considerably more important to the story) is the involvement of Sephiroth in literally anything before the final battle. Sephiroth didn't kill the President, didn't kill the Midgar Serpent, and didn't kill Aerith.. All of it was done by pieces of Jenova (though arguably they were acting on Sephiroth's behalf).
