  1. "Ugly" fruits and vegetables are not trashed, they are used for livestock feed or processed into jams, juices, sauces, etc. It would be absolutely idiotic to waste perfectly edible food and ruin the farm's profit margin because an apple or tomato is lopsided.🙄

  2. Imagine being denied a heart transplant for no other reason than you aren't vaxxed, and you see people like Jen Psaki who are quadruple boosted and still getting the virus, twice. I absolutely despise the way liberal "science" works.

  3. Some of these rules are rather pathetic and cynical and deserved to be disregarded. Vaccination requirement for variants of a virus and denial of transplant to obese, substance abusing, criminal people solely based on not having spare millions to hand? So outwith my life experience, surely not? ;-0

  4. Yea no Canadian natives are the same as the Alaskan Natives we have up here. They drink on there own accord. They get exhiled from their villages for drinking. Then they come to the city and sleep on the streets. 8/10 homeless drunks up here are natives.

  5. If someone wastes an organ due to their choices, they shouldn’t get another one. Period. Why should someone who drinks themselves nearly to death, regardless of the reason, get one while someone else who didn’t dies instead? If there were plenty of organs, sure, but when there aren’t, then someone who chooses to abuse themselves shouldn’t come before someone who didn’t. This may one day include my own mother, and oh well. Right now, people in prison for life can get transplants to keep them going another 20 years.

  6. If they they have an issue giving people with too low of an IQ organ transplants, then I guess flat earthers, holocaust deniers, and people who trust politicians are off the list

  7. Listen, I understand the temptation to be outraged over someone being denied because they’re poor, but there are so many ways to raise funds and fundraising is super easy these days. If you can make a GoFundMe and contact some local news stations, it’s not hard to raise a ton of money. Using social media to advertise it is also a great way to extend your reach, plenty of people are willing to donate.

  8. There is book by Jodi Picoult called "A Change of Heart" in which she tells the story of about a woman who's husband & eldest daughter were murdered, man was arrested and was sentenced to death. Years later, her young daughter was diagnosed with heart condition & without a transplant she would die. The man who killed her husband & first daughter is close to his execution date, learns about the little girls need for a heart and wants to donate his heart to her after his death. Its quite frankly a very emotional & hard read, even though its fiction. However, the issues about donation, on both sides, are real. Its truly a one of kind read that shows how complex organ donations are and the lasting emotional effects they leave to all involved.

  9. The idea that people with disabilities are denied transplants is absolutely horrifying. I've administered chemotherapy (which can be EXTREMELY dangerous if the IV access moves) to people with severe autism and down's syndrome. Yeah, it's tough, and there are a lot of extra considerations (most of them get a central line in the chest/neck so they're less likely to pull it out), but we have to TRY. It's heart-breaking to have to tell a mother that you can't continue treatment because the risks outweigh the benefit, but at least you know you tried. To not even give a person that opportunity…it goes against everything medicine is supposed to stand for.
