  1. The helldivers reminded me a little of dying light with the virals. Right before the last blow they usual cower in fear telling the protagonist to stop. As they are the most recent to catch the virus. It’s like you drop kicked the humanity back into them for one last time.

  2. Number 9 reminds me of a moment in Prey. There’s an injured NPC by table stacked with food. If you start taking all the food, she calls you out on it. I’ve never tested if there’s a different reaction if you drop food on the table.

  3. Avoiding ludonarrative dissonance when developing an inherently violent game is skillful mastery. It reinforces the immersion greatly. RDR2 is a great example on how to do it right. Hatred would be a bad example.

  4. Mass Effect 3 manages a small one, likely by accident. If you choose Morinth over her mother, Samara, in the second game, Samara's last words to you are that you'll regret doing so. Come ME3, and Morinth is nowhere to be seen…until the very end of the game where she shows up…as a bog standard banshee enemy. Literally, it's just a normal enemy except the name 'Morinth' is above the health bar. No big build up, no real pay off, just a complete anti-climax. Samara really was being sincere that you (as in the player) would regret that choice.

  5. Yesterday Night I glitched out in dying light 2 I was in one of the GR facilities I started to climb up a pipe and then all of a sudden the screen blacked out and the next thing I knew I was out of bounds I was literally shocked and confused at the same time 🤣🤣🤣

  6. For #2, its a bit deeper than that.
Its not JUST the line that really hits hard, its his expression.
That moment of confusion, followed by realization and dark humor.
It's rather well done for such a subtle thing.
