  1. Since you like flatpak and fedora, have you considered making a video about Fedora Silverblue? I use it as a daily driver and I love it, so I think more people being introduced to it would be very beneficial to the project!

  2. I think it's about time for Linux Mint to have a proper app launcher preinstalled and fully configured for the system. It'll make many people that would prefer Pop!_OS style to be comfortable with Mint.

  3. As I have noticed, flatpaks only make sense on LTS kinda distros, the ones that doesn't rolling nor are bleeding edge so this way you can have up-to-date apps without worrying yourself about possible crashes and instabilities like dependencies missing (because the distro is too old) or the infamous dependency hell.

  4. Hi Blaine, how about showing how to migrate all your files from the Windows environment to the Linux environment. This might (?) be simple for those who know Linux but if you are new to Linux this isn’t a given.

  5. idk what Linux mint has, but I always have stuttering sound issues in it. 🙁 wasn't always the case, but after Linux mint 19, I've been having those issues. I love linux mint, but yea

  6. Thanks for the review, mint has been my daily driver for years. Unfortunately I don't agree with Flatpaks as they are huge compared to native debs, flatpaks also don't update very well with them leaving various updates behind therefore bloating your system to the point of literally choking at boot if run out of space. They need to address this issue with a simple GUI to clean up and remove cached updates in both flatpak and apt. Will be waiting for the easy upgrade option from 20.3 to 21. Keep up the great work.

  7. one of the "10 things to do" (that is not already obvious on the welcome screen) is create Microsoft One Note web app. seriously? If the first thing that pops into your head is One Note then just stick with Windows. The cloud storage is notable though, so I'll give you that. 1/10

  8. 4:47 to 4:59 except, someone show me proof if I'm wrong here, the Mac os Time backup program might actually be restoring whole system images ..vs Timeshift in Linux mint just restores your PC only to the extent of a bootable state and isn't designed as a FULL system (as in including multiple drives worth of data) image solution)

So DONT completely rely on Timeshift.

Copy and paste aka manually back up your media files, saved game files and folders, screenshots of programs' settings .etc i to a separate drive AND on another separate drive target it with your Foxclone system image backups or clones

  9. 4:57 to 5:15 yes this was a long over due evolutionary change in hoe Timeshift works…default OOTB.

Regardless I STILL recommend you target a separate drive for your Timeshift snapshot backups.

    Why?

What if that main LM-installed drive fails? Can't restore to another drive from the Timeshift backup from the failed drive to a GOOD drive. Good luck with that.

  10. #11 – Wipe entire drive and install something not pilfered and rebranded by a bunch of whiny babies that can't even create their own distro yet set out to criticize every one else's. Unless you're a noob looking for a distro run by noobs.
