Even scientific ideas can be thought up by someone at one point but it takes someone else entirely to actually prove it and make it a real thing. And sometimes the distance between someone thinking of an idea and then someone proving it was true or feasible can be years.

Seriously the naked mole rat? You must mean when the white man decided it existed. I'm sure someone saw it before the 1970s but hey happy Thanksgiving
Did anyone else notice that muslim science suffered the same problem that christian science had. It was suppressed so hard by blasphemy laws that we had to wait centuries for the same thing to be found ( and "The Church" tried to block it again, see Darwin ).
Darwin was also a eugenicist that spoke out against vaccines as they allow the weak(that in his mind should die off in favor of the strong…) to survive and thus damage us as a race.
Reminds me when i theorized about ion thrusters when i was 10. Lacked the technical knowledge to do anything beyond that.
not sure the existence of Neptune has proven of practical use for your avg… or even above avg student.
well, it's like with evolution. stuff pops up independently from one another. 2 species of bats got suction cups, in totally different areas as an example. or like you discussed in a video, that alot of crustaceans evolve into the shape of crabs, while not being related to them. that was my pseudo-philosophical brain fart at midnight for now
Thanks for the upload
In 2001, Arthur C. Clarke writes that on his way tu the Moon, Dr Haywood Floyd reads the News on a screen and the headlines are updated regurlaly. That sounds an awefull lot like the Internet.
Germ theory is still widley ignored.
There are still homes in the UK that have a 5 door kitchen.
Which means you take a crap right next to where you cook,
and pass through 1,2,3,4, doors before you get to the bathroom sink.
F-ing gross.
when Simon started cracking on the arab names at #9 on the BB he would go "challenge me Danny, you're going too easy"

Interesting.
Aw thanks Simon this is the type of content that got me into you <3
DaVinci sketched a model of a human heart, and described a particular function of it. In the 20-teens, using a new technique in imaging, his description was proven accurate….
Im thankful for Simon's beard!
You mean Neptune was seen with a telescope, not a sattelite
The creeper computer virus didn't go anywhere, it just migrated to my phone so the creeper can keep tabs on me. And no, unfortunately I'm not done paranoid schizo, sadly this is actually happening and I'm about to destroy the very memory of the person who put it on my phone so that they will only ever be creeping again when they are creeping right up on deaths door….I tried a hard reset but since plan A didn't work I figured we'd just go plan A nuclear option and skip all the bain between
People in the past were quite smart, yet people today are too judgemental and can't grasp this concept, because they think everything was just done by aliens… š
You should have clarified that Democritus lived in the 5th century *BC*. Just saying "5th century" kinda implies AD…
Title your videos properly Simon. This one, for instance, should be called, "10 Crackpot Conspiracy Theories That Were Proven Right". Language is important. See, the word "proven" here, reminds people that the crackpot theories were always right, just shunned by the experts of the day. Until they weren't.
Waiting for a reverse microwave. Put in beverage, close door, push button, wait a minute, ice cold drink.
I have a video suggestion: "Top Ten Songs that have become Anthems"
They can be songs that either on accident became an "anthem" for a person, place, thing, etc. Or it was made to be an "anthem" on purpose. Such as how Arlo Guthrie's song "Alice's Restaurant" became an "anthem" of sorts for Thanksgiving here in the USA.
2500 years ago the moon was a bit closer to the planet too, so the eclipses during that era were probably pretty spectacular. It would have been much larger in the night sky also
Edit: I looked it up after typing this and the movement isn't quite as much as I originally thought, so there wouldn't have been a significant difference
Wonder if Danny or whoever the writer is for this watched CalebCity before writing the script for the video š
In 1980, we were tasked to come up with a new business in our Business 101 college class. I thought if there was a business that would make you a cassette with your favorite songs, like we had been doing manually from the radio, people would buy this. It was well before the term 'mixtape' was created. Essentially, this is what Spotify is. But, my instructor said it wouldn't be feasible because you could never get around the licensing issues. I got a B+. I'm mad because I had the idea of listening to your own list of music several decades before we were able to do so on Spotify. >:(
Leonardo Da Vinci beat the Wright Brothers to airplanes by nearly half a century
Fun fact about Arthur C. Clarke.
Sri Lanka confirmed Arthur C Clarke was not a paedophile.
So I guess that proves it.
"also known as Ibn Katima, because of course he is."
Ballsy Simon.
Regardless of how innocuous that statement may have been to you and/or the writer(s) of your hastily composed scripts, I won't be at all surprised if you suffer backlash for it.
Alright we get it you can grow a beard, now get that thing under control.
How about Kant for guessing that galaxies are āisland universesā over 100 years before Hubbleās observations and Eratosthenes for measuring the circumference of the earth around 200BC
Do you notice the ONLY times when the religion of a person or persons is stated?
Neptune was first seen by Gallileo, but he never realised it was a planet.
Black holes aren't holes, they're a lump of incredibly dense matter.
Gonna need a source for those Muslim claims, otherwise it's just revisionist history.
Well if atoms can be split then that WASNT what he was theorizing⦠because obviously weāve split someā¦
A 13th century rabbi known as Nachmanides was (I believe) the first to propose something along the lines of what would today be called the Big Bang Theory.
