Mr Toads wild ride.
U forgot to add Galactic Star Pooper 🚽
Loved the editing on this one
I've never seen a lightshow parade.
For Disneyland, I wouldn't completely shut down Tomorrowland. I would bulldoze the America Sings building, use that area for Tron and then use the Peoplemover track route for the Tron ride. I would leave most of the rest of TL as is. The addition of Tron would add a lot of movement and innovation.
3:35 what about grizzly river run💀💀💀
You drive a Nissan.
While I enjoy Happily Ever After, it's never going to have my favorite nighttime spectacular spot (that's Fantasmic). But it probably has my 2nd favorite experience watching it. Walking out into the rain with less than 1000 other people to watch it, people grabbing strangers and dancing down main street, everyone singing along with every Happily Ever After clip; that's magic. And it was cool as hell. By the time it was over, we were all completely drenched and shivering and running back for cover as rain just poured down but everyone was laughing and all the normies were shaking their heads at us. This was pre-pandemic and man, that kind of stuff is what I miss the most.
Don't know where you are getting your information from. I was at Epcot when it opened and Journey was there.
The People Mover you are refering to is the one in DisneyLand, as the one in Walt Disney World is open still.
I miss Jordan Fisher.
Horizons was awesome.
The old Epcot is so much better than today's Epcot.
The People Mover is coming back to Disneyland when Tomorrowland gets redone.
honestly I think Disney Hollywood studios in Paris was an even bigger failure than Disney land paris
disneyland Paris also killed….. BEASLY KINGDOM D:
4:06 I’m right there with you on Horizons. I remember as a kid my parents had these ‘Visit Walt Disney World’ tourism VHS tapes that me and my siblings would watch. The Epoct one (which was made back in like 1989) showed Horizons and I thought it looked really cool. But by this time us kids were ‘old enough’ for Epoct (that is wouldn’t get bored out of our skulls) Horizons had been shut down.
Such a shame, I think I would have loved it even as a kid
The drop off in quality from HEA to Enchantment was vast. HEA's arrangement is an actual masterpiece.
Disney’s biggest mistake was not bringing back Paint the Night. Who knows if or when it would come back 🙁
A really big mistake for me was the replacement of Maelstrom to Frozen Ever After.
I think that replacement represented the major shift to "IPcot", and while I don't personally care for that, a lot of people do it seems. That and Frozen just feels like a worse ride. The animatronics for the human characters are generally really bad, there's a lot less elaborate sets, and it has nowhere near as much personality as Maelstrom. I will admit the Elsa scene and queue are really good, but aside from that it's a pretty big downgrade in my opinion
I'm sorry, they decided to tie it in with honey I shrunk the audience??? Why THAT of all things?? I only ever watched that once and I got traumatized by the feet tickling effect because I did NOT sign up to suddenly get touched in an unpleasant way suddenly while watching a show
I was in the same crowd with you on the 50th! I'm honestly shocked you didn't bring up Light Magic. Disney poured money into a campaign for what was supposedly the final show for the Electrical Parade…only to bring it back at the end of the summer when it's expensive successor bombed!
I’ll never forgive Disney for replacing my favorite ride in Epcot, Horizons, with that Giant Space Laundry Machine! 🤮
And the classic Main Street Bakery, at WDW’s Magic Kingdom, that is now “just another Starbucks Coffee in the world”.
YES!!! We all miss Dreamfinder!!!!!!! 😢
Has anyone seen the short documentary about the two friends who had a whole system of hopping off of horizon and exploring the ride on foot?
Tony Baxter’s Discovery Bay planned for Disneyland in the 70's would have been an amazing addition. It would have thematically fit in better with adjacent lands and naturally enhanced their ambiance. Big mistake and a huge miss opportunity as far as I'm concerned. Anyone know why it was cancelled?
I miss Body Wars, not gonna lie. And whose idea was it to get rid of the place with all the cool Coke stuff from around the world? Add in Mr. Toad at WDW (getting rid of it, I mean) and while I was not particularly a fan of the Maelstrom, just the idea of taking a ride with a specific nod to a culture and changing it to ride about a Disney movie (meaning they could do it with anything) has never quite sat well with me. (Same with the end of Rio Del Tiempo as well, although I don't harbor the same ill will toward the three cabelleros ride.)
I have always agreed with bringing Aladdin back to the Hyperion.
Biggest mistake was getting rid of the country bear jamboree in disneyland. I can't ever forgive them for that.
I grew up going to WDW, so I rode both Horizons & JIYI. Horizons is still my favorite Disney ride of all time. JIYI was awful. Just awful. Only rode it once, but had no intention of ever riding it again, especially since the original JII was incredible.
In terms of Disney Fails, one that has to go in the record books is The NBA Experience at Disney Springs. It replaced DisneyQuest, which people immediately hated. Opened in August of 2019 and nobody ended up going. Closed in March 2020 due to the thing that happened and never re-opened. They built a purpose built building for a stand alone attraction that lasted less than 7 months… Can’t get much worse than that. I actually went to the NBA Experience when CMs were given free admission and did a video on my Thrill Seekers Channel… It was…something…
Another good one is Stitch’s Supersonic Celebration in Magic Kingdom. The outdoor stage was built for this show, which lasted about 2 months before closing for good. It was a bad show with a bad venue.
Just a few more WDW examples in case you want to expand on this topic…
Michael Eisner started it, Bob Iger continued it, And Bob Cheapek with Susan Arnold are nailing the coffin shut! With their lgbtq wokeness.
Disney didn’t approve of anything he’s been gone his brother gone 5 months after the opening of Disney world.
19:49 the difference is super star limo is actually an amazing ride 🗣🗣🗣
The French may not be culturally overtaking the US, but they once very literally invaded and raided England and THAT IS WHY HALF YOUR WORDS ARE FRENCH, Mr Eisner. Please don't be that ignorant American blockhead…
I went to Disney World for the first time in 2019, with the Magic Kingdom being the first park that I visited. So Happily Ever After is very special to me, and I would love for them to bring it back! I'm watching this at work right now, and that clip of the finale has me crying😭
Yup, for many years, I would call it Disney's Parking Lot Adventure.
i think another fail that wasn’t mentioned that should have been was disney removing muppet vision 3D in DCA. maybe it’s the nostalgia talking but i remember it being so creative, fresh, and so funny and cute. it had 4D elements and a good plot and was a nice little opportunity to get out of the hot sun and sit down and the queue was so beautiful and immersive as well. I don’t think there has been another muppet attraction at Disneyland or DCA before or since and they stopped selling muppet merch. i still have my little kermit keychain i bought from the gift shop right outside. it’s a marvel superstore now and it’s so cool inside for sure, but there’s so many marvel things and no muppet things:( i just wish they had at least one muppet themed attraction there
What is the song music in the background? I know it’s from Epcot but I can’t find it anywhere
Ever since I watched Defunctland's vid on Journey Into Imagination, I have mourned its loss and replacements. A ride I never experienced, I mourn its absence in my life and at Disney. I really, really want that to see it make a return, it honest and truly seemed like the perfect showcase of imagination and creativity
Please please please the people mover 100000% I wish they would bring it back to Disneyland it would make Tomorrowland so much better
#1 bob chapek
Never occurred to me before, but it's kinda self centred to name your park after yourself isn't it? Like damn, cool it with the ego there Walt
hot take: they never should have ditched the original submarine ride at Disneyland Anaheim. I grew up with it, I LOVED it, genuinely felt like I was going way under water and got to see exotic sea life and mermaids. Not every ride has to be based on a Disney IP, but sadly feel like there's less and less rides that stand to their own theming, instead of just using an IP.
I would prefer if the Finding Nemo aspect was removed and they just updated it with realistic looking sea life, so that kids of all ages can still find the wonder if journeying to the ocean.
thank u for ur honest Encantment takes, Dallin! I was debating to do the dessert party or not. you just helped me save over $250! i love that when you give your take on something i feel like i can really trust it, you're not a hater who just hates everything new Disney does, you're generally positive. but you're not, for lack of a better term, a bootlicker, lol, sooo when you say you don't like something i value that opinion.
