really it seems kinda obvious to me why they wouldn't live on the ocean for a multitude of reasons, I betcha if you look at their history considering where they lived more than once in their history I am sure one of the Indonesian archipelago volcano 's erupted to it like every other civilization (theirs wasn't documented) a great flood. maybe their flood was insane or they were across from Tambora and it went nuts with a 200 foot wall tsunami forcing them to go far inland to survive the unpredictable volcano.
