  1. First point is huge. I have a working line gsd puppy, 5 months old and my goal is to do sports with her while training her completely alone with no trainer assistance. It is really hard to just remember that she's way too young to be perfect. I need to remind myself daily that my 5 month old puppy is not the same as a 3 year old dogs trained by a professional. Sometimes it's just hard to not compare your progress especially if you use social media.

My progress with her so far is literally perfect. She was potty trained within weeks. She is fine being alone. She is very focused on me almost all the time. Crate trained since day 1. She is an amazing dog and I couldn't be happier. That's all that matters. Maybe our perfect competition heel will take 2 years, maybe 3 years. Maybe our tracking is going very slow. Maybe her fronts aren't that straight yet. Maybe she gets distracted too much. But I'm not in a hurry and I have to remember that. Take your time and enjoy it! You will eventually get where you want to be

  2. Disagree on one point: (almost) no socialization if they didn't receive their shot. This period is so short that if owners miss it, they're going to face serious issues in the future with their dogs. To keep the dog in a bubble until they receive the shot is a huge mistake in my opinion. Of course, you don't go to the dog park, but there is a balance between waiting the dog to receive his second shot and going to the dog park.

  3. I agree mostly except I use a rx heartworm flea and tick because I live in the south. Trust me if you have ever seen a dog dying of heartworm which they do here you know what I'm saying.

  4. Love that you are going to be training pups! I had been wondering if you were going to do that at some point. 🙂 Awesome video as usual Will! Thanks so much. Big hugs to you, the pups, and of course, Ms. Ralli! 💖

  5. Your training how exciting! You do have a lot of knowledge to share. I believe a big part of potty training is getting them on a feeding schedule! If you leave food down all day, they will poop all day lol. Its important to take puppies out as soon as they wake up in the morning, naps & play then again after they eat and before bed.

  6. Great advice Will! Good to see you taking a break from the road! Hope your enjoying all the convenient hot showers! Looks like Enzo and Lotus are enjoying the extra attention! Hope Ms Rali is doing as well seeing as we missed seeing or hearing her in this episode!? Take care pets and best wishes to the gang! I’ll be looking forward to your next post!

  7. I have a 7-month-old GSD and am using Roberts training and it is going really well. Don't expect too much is so true. I will look at my pup and sometimes see a dog and think how come he isn't doing this. He's 7 months old. Vicks vapo rub stops him from chewing on things. Just putting that out there.

  8. I can not stop my puppy from biting. German/ Dutch shepherd and he’s 11 years old. I’ve tried the ouch. I’ve tried shoving toys in his mouth and yet my arm still looks like an emo kid. I don’t want to slap him. Any tips ???? I need serious help. Or any advice
