  1. While Dragon's Dogma doesn't strike me as a bad game, I wouldn't classify it as particularly good either. The gameplay offers a fair amount of enjoyment, yet when it comes to the narrative and RPG elements, it tends to be quite lackluster.

  2. 10 Games They Made You BELIEVE WERE BAD… by giving them ratings way above average for the most part…
"Critics DISMISSED it with an average of 73, while user scores were more POSITIVE at 79"… 😐

Also, the Order 1886 deserved the backlash it got. It was criminally short, sold at full-AAA price, was marketed as a "hunt supernatural beings" game that had one abysmally short werewolf section and was otherwise just a human-vs-human cover shooter… yes, the graphics were and still are impressive, the premise and setting are nice, but those things alone don't a great game make. If anything, I think that the game was slightly overrated, especially since it had so much (wasted) potential to be a truly memorable masterpiece. As it stands, it has some striking similarities with Ryse: Son of Rome – looks great, is short and repetitive, has some people defend it as a misunderstood masterpiece.

  3. Alien isolation is great , but I understand if you reviewed it under a time crunch it would be frustrating. The AI can feel unpredictable and the game starts to drag in the final half.

  4. The way the title is worded suggests, at least to me who is not a native English speaker, that these are games in which "you were the bad guy" but in the end you weren't. Not bad games that we thought were bad but really weren't and on top of that, choosing Prototype as the image… XD

  5. Why would anyone care about the critics score. I always look at users scores and let’s be honest we’ve all enjoyed games that have a low user score as well, I just find if it’s got a good user score, 9 times out of 10 its a good game. Btw loved the Mad Max game.

  6. Started on Dynasty Warriors 3, played 4, 6E, 7, 8, and 9… 6E was the worst IMO… I don't hate 9, I know it's not the DW we know and love, but getting to run around ancient China does have it's charm lol

  7. I'm not understanding Alien being on here. All I remember when that game dropped was a pure lovefest. I never bothered with it because I don't consider hiding to be a great gameplay mechanic, but everyone I heard from (IRL and online) couldn't say enough about it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  8. All of the Warriors games are freaking amazing. My first was DW5 back when I was like 12 when it first came out. I get why 9 gets hate but I enjoy it for a laid back experience. Especially Empires with my own character

  9. Ideally critics will never be the target audience for any content. I don't trust critics because if a person is paid to review something they would never have chosen to read, watch, play then their opinion is meaningless. All of these things are subjective. There will never be an objective measure for if something will be good or not. A bunch of critics can and will say "It's a tired old trope" about the exact same thing they called cutting edge and refreshing twenty years ago. Because they're sick of it.

Meanwhile it might be a game style I had no interest in 20 years ago but now would love to get into.

I try to follow people who only review things they themselves enjoy and thus would have chosen paid or not.

  10. Finally one of my most favorite of all time – Spider-man WoS has received some love and recognition. The web – wall – air combat mechanic in this game was so satisfying to pull off. Sadly, Insomniac has missed a big opportunity to recreate and improve the combat mechanic in Spider-man 2.

  11. Kingdom Come: Deliverance should also be on this list. It’s like a Medieval equivalent to Mafia (that because the writer/director of Mafia worked on this game) with a mix of Action RPG & Realism.thrown in it.

  12. Because Dynasty Warriors was bad–character design, animation, graphics, all of it were inferior to Sengoku Basara, which did the exact same thing but packaged it in typical Capcom-level of bonkers and over-the-top ridiculousness.
