My Great Grandpa Wieczorek ran a Speakeasy in the basement of his store in Rockford Illinois. He was friends with the Chief of Police. From time to time the Chief would raid my Grandfathers store to make things look good. He would phone Grandfather so he could get everyone out of the Speakeasy before the police would get there.

My cousin’s husband died of polio and one of my earliest memories is of him being in an iron lung in our house. My parents took them in and helped her care for him until he died.

You have to have a special personality to serve in a submarine. One of my coworkers served as part of a submarine team, and he was the most laid back guy I ever knew. Nothing rattled that man.
In NC my grandfather, long since passed away, owned a tobacco farm, a small corner store, and he was a moonshiner. He had a reputation for distilling the best moonshine. He was never busted by the revenuers—government men whose job it was to catch those making illegal alcohol—who were disliked by everyone. Word spread fast when one was spotted in the area. People watched out for each other even the preacher stopped by the store to warn grand dad that several revenuers had checked into a boarding home down in town. Lol.
My great uncle was killed in the Texas City disaster. RIP for all those who died.

My brother and I went for a walk. This one time, we came across a house that was totally engulfed in flames, and there was no one around. It was dark and no traffic, no people, just crazy. All we could see Was this fire that just engulf this house. I don’t know if the people that were living there survived, we didn’t know what to do. This was before cell phones existed, we had no way to contact anybody, because it was so late there were no one was awake with their lights on. We didn’t know what to do. I’m not sure how much time passed before the firetruck showed up! Scary though, we have no idea what happened to that house, if anybody survived or not!!! 😢😢

Re: Moonshiners: Another one I saw in a museum was a milk bottle that had been painted white on the inside, so that when you look at it, it looks like the bottle is filled with milk. The paint was flaking, and had tested positive for lead, BTW.

Americans better get use to new polio outbreaks, seeing as how they don't believe in vaccines. Vaccines got rid of smallpox, but polio hasn't yet been eradicated.
I appreciate the research that went into creating and presenting this video. That said, promising an analysis of historic photos and then using unnatural-looking AI generated images to fill in the gaps was severely disappointing. I know I don't speak for everyone, but please reconsider the use of AI imagery in future videos.
