I'm a big fan of the series s in theory, I think somebody needs to offer that solution in the market for the normie trinity of Fortnite, fifa and warzone.
You should get the next gen or pc for the load times. I could never go back now to say a PS4. I would prefer this kinda update over heres more graphics. Next consoles should have stable 60 fps and leave it there. Focus on technicality of games over being pretty
As to why their still making games compatible for last Gen is beyond me
Anyone else really fancy getting some orange juice from Greggs?
2022: "I still can't get a PS5!!"
2024: "Why did I bother to get a PS5??"
Ignoring exchange rates on the ps5 pro. In the UK we are getting bummed for another £100 just for the console over our States cousins
For Remasters, why don't we get a Bioshock remaster, that's a game that people would actually like to see redone and could be built upon now we have two sequels
Got a 2nd hand xbox x for $130. Buying used discs. Full prices are ridiculous. 😳
After Cyberpunk 2077, I'll NEVER buy another game day one. With the unfinished state 90% of games are released in, why should the consumer pay to play the very worst build of the game on release? It can ruin the whole experience, so why take the gamble? Better to wait for the Devs to optimise it and then pick it up at half price 12-18 months down the line. If everyone else's backlog is anything like mine, it's not as though you're ever stuck for anything to play. I also dip into different subscriptions (PS+, Ubisoft+ or Game Pass) based on what I want to play. Like I paid £15 for a month of Ubisoft+, and it let me play through the main stories on Avatar, Mirage and Outlaws over a month then I just don't renew. It works pretty well and means I can get a good crack at these games for a fraction of what it would cost me to buy them all
Chapters would've been nice for this ~1hr episode.
How about crap skyrim being constantly re released and remastered. It was boring and buggy when it was released and it still is. Stop releasing this rubbish. As for the series s, it was a joke when it was released and it still is
PS5 Pro $800 in USD, lucky you !
its $1,200 AUD digital and $1,360 with Disc
Unrelated the Steamdeck is finally releasing in Australia next month, in Australia entry point is $649, i'm not rich by any stretch of the imagination but that is sooo soooooo cheap to have access to steam library, steam games are much much cheaper than console games
Still haven't bought God of War Ragnarok due to that price point
Who tf asking for a RDR2 remaster?
Ps5 pro Australian costs $1,199.95
Wtf 😢
Not everyone can afford to buy a ps5 or Xbox series x s
If you are a Sony fan in 2024, you ride in the short bus
Missing: no price cuts for systems after 4 years!!!
5 years and waiting for apex legends campaign.
19:23 I am very surprised everyone forgot about that whole 2 year California investigation… Bobby left death threats to his Secretary on top of it all
Someone should dig more into it
39:15 this one sucks… pricing has always sucked in the gaming industry, like blizzard never changed their diablo 2 pricing or ea has their latest sims dlc at the same cost of newly released games… but the price going up to 70… that's a new low
There's a reason that RDR2 won't get a remaster. Two reasons, though one is BS, because Take Two and Rockstar just want to keep supporting the GTA Online cash cow. They point at the GTA Definative Edition Trilogy as a reason why they aren't doing remasters, even though that was massively botched by giving it to a studio who just had done Mobile ports of their games before and then cut their publishing timeline by six months so that Take Two could have a game to put out for an earnings call. Rockstar ended up cancelling a planned remaster of GTA 4 because of that excuse (mostly to keep feeding GTA 5 and add more people to the GTA 6 teams, imho.) Also, RDR2 Online didn't become the Cash Cow that GTA Online did, which is why they've pretty much completely abandoned that part of the game.
Remember, the CEO of Take Two, Strauss Zelnick, said that he thinks that GTA Online is "Undermonetized." It's a game that came out two generations ago that is still a Top Ten Game that makes over a Billion dollars a year, but it's "Undermonetized."
Strauss, I don't care how much you exercise, when you die, none of your billions will come with you, you have so much money at this point, every person who's related to you will never have to work, this is just the usual greed for greed's sake.
all the points named are spot on. The greed of companies is destroying our gaming industry, The price of consoles is just outragous, the whole monitization of dlcs is just too much. Gamers need to take a stand and just say enough is enough on these prices!
It blew my mind when they just released Jedi Survivor on PS4. I haven't known them to go back an re-release a current Gen game on last Gen hardware.
Ps4 generation lasting too long only means that the PS5 generation is gonna last even longer.
Yes, the new systems may come out by 2027/2028 but PS5 will be actively getting games into 2032/2033.
Gaming systems put themself in this corner and at this point the only way to start digging out is go pro consumer in some way quickly.
Putting cross gen releases, the thing that has held back this generation the most, by far (the Series S is a somewhat close second), as number 10 is a strange choice, but also has me on board when normally these negativity fests drive me a bit nuts.
Yes Scott it is disappointing – There you go saved 52 minutes of your opinions
Using the basically last gen Series S in the foreground was a rude choice.
Does anyone actually put there PS5 vertical? If as few people do as seem to, it is dumb to include it, but it should be more like $10 for the 10 people that put it vertical. Including it in the price to have the "best" version is a bit insane.
Straight up cross gen and the pointless live service push have killed this generation. I can’t believe there’s still big games coming out on PS4. It’s a joke. Nothing past 2021 at the latest should have been cross gen
I’m not buying a ps6 early doors if they do the same thing again
Also live service needs to die as well. Sony chasing it is just as bad as chasing cross gen
First, they are acting like you can't buy a disk drive for the PS5 Pro and slim, all while Xbox has multiple consoles with 0 option for a disk drive. The other thing, both Xbox and PS have great sales on the their digital stores, so being worried about being stuck with their prices isn't that big of a deal. There is still the option to buy digital codes from other retailers. The levels they go to make things sound so much worse than they are is a bit over the top.
I love how a $10 increase has people so worked up. $10 is literally nothing. Anyone that has an issue with $70 had to have had an issue with $60 or they aren't using logic.
Stellar Blade, Returnal, Rise of the Ronin, Astro Bot, Rachet and Clank Rift Apart, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth… I wouldn't say PS has done terrible with PS5 exclusive.
Number 11, the introduction of divisive politics into the medium and industry at every level.
How about time stamping your videos or list the time point each entry makes in your description… a video nearly an hour long for just a top ten list… TLDW
Great long form video 👍🏻
The 4k 60 thing everyone obsesses about, most people don't even notice. And it's the main thing people justify a whole new generation with. The jump from PS1 to PS2, then to 3 – it was huge. Now it's people saying it's 4k 60 it's huge!! And it's really not. The casual can't even tell the difference. And as for this "4k 60 looks so much better" PS5 pro argument, mostly they are showing off comparison videos of PS4 games to claim how good they look compared PS5 standard
Another is pretending that all devs are great and talented even when they release garbage.
I think you missed the mark with the $70 price point. It's not length that we're looking for. For $70, a game should be DONE. We shouldn't need 6 months of patches to make the game work correctly. The game should be released in a finished state, and without cutting out 60% of it to sell it to us for extra later. If the developers "DLC" was a part of their original vision of the game, it should be a part of the main game.
There is no such thing as a good live service game
How dare you try to cover up your bantering as a list
I agree with all points given. Good video.
I started off in the 80's as a Nintendo guy. Had the NES & SNES. It was the claw controller of the N64 that forced me to change to Playstation. I had a PS1. I have a PS2, PS3 & PS4. It's because of Sony's outright greed and laziness that I my last console will be the PS4. I'm done buying their games and consoles. I will never buy an XBox. Never had an interest in any of their games. I won't ever buy a Switch or Switch 2 because Nintendo has gone out of their way to be user unfriendly to gamers like me who have oversized hands (the claw controller for the N64 literally sliced my knuckles when I tried it out at a Toys R Us in the mid 90's). The joycons are entirely too tiny for me.
There are plenty of games this generation, but none of them really made purchasing a PS5 worthwhile for me. The type of single-player experiences I enjoy felt stagnant in terms of PS5 exclusives and I just picked everything else up on PC where possible. I just haven't used my PS5 in comparison to the 1000's of hours I got from my PS4 Pro.
