  1. As a person that spent 200+ hours and absolutely loved Horizon Zero Dawn I tend to agree with Forbidden West coming off as kinda meh. My main complaint was the weapons this time around. I couldn't really find that one bow that covered all my needs like the last game and having to constantly swap out during fights was irksome. I played Zero Dawn multiple times and covered every square in the map and with Forbidden West I got through it once and put it down. There are some things still left undone which is a testament to which one I enjoyed the West. Prettier isn't always better. Hopefully the next one will be better and more innovative.

  2. Didn’t check the ratings, but just picking 3 games I think didn’t get talked about as much as they were worth talking about after playing them. Nier Automata, Code: Vein, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

  3. The Outer Worlds is Bethesda style because it's made by the same people that made Fallout: New Vegas ffs, do some research sometimes. Same thing with HFW… it didn't change enough? Are you blind Jake? Your before you buy videos are good but your other videos always fail for me because it seems like you didn't play the same game as the rest of us.

  4. Starfield committed the sin of being boring. Whatever you feel about Fallout or Elder Scrolls games, they aren't boring. It's just a slog to get through the damn thing and when I look back at it, I can't remember any quest that left an impression. It's just the same thing over and over again, literally, because of all the procedurally generated locations.

  5. Agree on Forbidden West. The upgrade system was F'd. The lack of lock on is inexcusable at this point, and yeah, I tell people the game gets a full point better if you turn off voices between cutscenes so she will shut up for a whole minute.
Outer Wilds a 7 but New Vegas a 10? Don't even know what to say to that. I noticed you compared the shooting in Starfield to Fallout 4. Why not the so-called 10/10 Fallout? Considering the ages at Gameranx, I know it's because you all played it when you were younger so it's forever the best game ever, but for all its qualities the game has deeeep flaws.

  6. A few that I really like a lot in recent years are Banishers: Ghosts of Eden, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy, and Atlas Fallen. Another great thing about these 7/10 games is that the prices drop pretty quick and then they're often on sale for even better deals, often under $20 within a year of release.
