10. An inside tour of our new narrowboat Thistle & Rose, our tiny home on the English canals

Ever wondered what it’s like inside a new narrowboat, thinking of buying a new narrowboat and trying to decide on your layout, or one of our neighbours and just want to have a look and be nosey? We invite you all aboard our tiny floating home and discuss why we chose our layout and hope it can either be an inspiration or confirm what you do or don’t want.

Hi we are Rozzie, Rob & Ralph the nutty cockapoo and we have given up the rat race, sold our house and have bought a new narrowboat, Thistle & Rose. Our vlogs are showing our learns as we go from bricks and mortar to life on the water. Join us as we literally learn the ropes of becoming continual cruisers on England’s 2500 miles of canals & rivers.

Our vlogs are ideal if you have ever wondered what it’s like to live on a narrowboat or are considering to make the leap and buy your very own narrowboat. There’s always some humour, lots of mistakes and always a few drinks being poured. Subscribe to our channel, ask us a question or just watch our videos as there’s something for everyone.

  1. First time I have watched your vlogs but it won't be the last. Loved it and what a totally beautiful boat.

The only question I would ask is not one that I would expect you to answer but I would love to know how much 😊

  2. I wish you the very best on your boat. Being from western Washington, I will never be able to enjoy the experience that you both have, so God bless you, and I very much enjoyed your video. It was an instructive and enjoyable experience.

  3. I thought I was crazy. I had all these ideas for the build but I really didn't see my ideas in other boats. Until now!!! Your really did a grand job of the boat. Gave me some new ideas too! Your window positioning is really good. I'm planning a "Victorian library" feel for mine-but with the 'smart boat' and security system like you have. Really a beautiful boat! Thanks for sharing.

  5. Nice tour.

I'm narrowboating vicariously from Alaska for now. We have extensive experience with large American Class A Motorhomes and wouldn't consider going without a microwave primarily bc we have found it beneficial to travel with lots of prepackaged meals which are readily heated by microwave.

    Q. Why didn't you take the duck hatch openings into the roof for easy access to towpaths?

    Lovely boat…

  6. Magnificent.
English is not my first language.
It looks better than the interior of a mantion, except for the size of course.
There is an overall grand design, that every item, every furniture and every colour obey. Really superb design.
Above all I appreciate you. I just won two English accents on a single vlog, to listen to.
Honestly, I am not here for the boat life, I am here, because of your English style, your culture, good manners, banter and all the things that comprises a good/nice persons.

  8. 0:46 of all the narrowboat channels I have watched yours is the most well designed, well decorated, uncluttered, and homely that I have seen. My parents had a narrowboat in the 70s – 90s and I spent many an enjoyable holiday aboard. I now live in Central Thailand and get much comfort from viewing these videos. Best wishes for the New Year and keep up the good work.
