  2. I loved all the picks, especially the persona 5 soundtrack. I wish I had been able to play stella glow and legend of legacy, they sound like great games.

But my favorite jrpg soundtrack will always be from Dark Cloud, from the intro to the final battle, every track either held my attention or soothed me with it's amazing melody.

  3. One of the most difficult things when this topic comes up is to acknowledge good soundtracks in games that aren’t one of our favs, coz ppl tend to gravitate towards their fav games in general. These are 3 games that are far from being my favs but are nonetheless games that have amazing soundtracks: FF15 (epic, classical, voiced in latin, a masterpiece and a delight to anyone who’s into classical music); Child of Light (amazing indie game with an incredible musical score by the québécoise artist Coeur de Pirate – it’s part of what makes this game so unique); FF13-2 (not only does it improve on FF13 amazing soundtrack, but it is also highly experimental, like the chocobo riding theme in heavy metal – plus: all main characters Serah/Noel/Yeul have remarkable themes)

As for my personal favs: both Niers; FF9 and FF7

  4. My entry would be Final Fantasy 9, I could go on forever about that soundtrack. The amount of good songs in that game is about as vast as the PlayStation 1’s game library!

  6. Thank you for this video!
There are a lot of great soundtracks in JRPGs, but for me there is no like Bravely Deafault's. I'm even a little surprised no one mentioned it here.
Its epic orchestral score, memorable themes and clever use of instrumental arrangements in the same track make it one of my favourite soundtrack in all of gaming.

  7. Blue Reflection and its sequel Second Light are my absolute favorite soundtracks, the artcore music composed by Hayato Asano, especially for the boss fights, are incredible. Especially in Second Light, the music captures a range of emotions from optimism and despair, and the emotional strength of the girls as they deal with both the monsters in their world as well as their own personal issues comes through very well.

  8. So many great jrpg soundtracks out there it's hard to choose

Xenoblade X has a ost unlike anything else, such an amazing soundtrack

Love the Crisis Core ost as well, amazing remixes of classic FF VII songs and great guitar work throughout

  9. My favorite JRPG soundtrack is Xenoblade Chronicles X. I am a major fan of Hiroyuki Sawano. Attack on Titan, Kill La Kill, Promare, Guilty Crown, Gundam Unicorn, and many others. Hiroyuki has a signature sound that combines bombastic Hollywood instrumentals with electronica and guitar. Imagine if Hanz Zimmer was asked to work with Daft Punk. His soundtracks often feature a plethora of Japanese or American singers to provide vocals that take the focus of his songs, and his signature Sawano Drop that hypes you up. XCX's soundtrack in particular has vocals for all of the combat themes, the flying theme, and many songs that appropriately play during cutscenes. It has become a DAILY listen for me. I listen to Black Tar, Uncontrollable, Don't Worry, Your Voice, and more on my playlist every single day at work. I've focused on physically obtaining copies of his various soundtracks since then.

  10. Kinda misinformation when especially in gaming, actual copyright "strikes" particularly for soundtracks are extremely rare. Plenty of people talk about video game soundtracks, as they should! Especially in the jrpg genre, they are absolute art!
