That Time ImageMovers Made An Ugly Mars Movie…

Oh god, it’s look so horrible! From the eternally creepy mocap approaches of Robert Zemeckis’ ImageMovers studio, comes the epitome of everything that goes wrong with their movies. Aimed towards kids, it has a message build for toddlers, all the while scaring them with visuals that are both uncomfortable and overtly sexual as well. With a plotline that fumbles the whole way through and a villain with no passable dialogue, and you’ve built the perfect trainwreck. I never saw this movie when it first came out. And now I wish maybe I didn’t ever. This is The TERRIBLE Mars Needs Moms…

  1. I feel like Zemeckis and Image Movers are better off when they're utilising motion capture to be intentionally enhance the creep and the nightmare fuel factor like Monster House, Beowulf (especially towards monsters like Grendel) or A Christmas Carol (Jacob Marley and Ghost of Yet to Come) rather then unintentionally Uncanny Valley

  2. this movie's disastrous box office performance killed Image Movers Digital's other movies that were development like a Nutcracker Movie, Yellow Submarine Remake and a Kaiju Movie by Michael Dougherty called "Calling All Robots"…. and a Roger Rabbit Sequel too

  3. Ngl, this movie isnt bad. Its a solid 4.5/10 for me. Its pretty weird, but more importantly UNCANNY AS FUCK! I literally can not stress enough how terrifying the character designs are. Dialogue is… alright… The music is pretty good but other than that… pretty strange movie……..

  4. Okay but like- I surprisingly was never creeped out by this movie as a kid, and I actually- enjoyed it? I mean it's not my favorite obviously, but I liked watching it and it made me value my mom more. I understand why it gets a lot of hate, but I just so happen to not have those kinds of issues with it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

  5. It’s an alien race that reproduces asexually*, but females have very wide hips to the point where it makes their running a bit wonky. And apparently their newborns need mom and dad to be a legit family. No two dads or two moms or single parent will do. Only heteronormative family.
I dunno i feel author had some sort of agenda lol.

    * – unless they put their seed and eggs into the ground?? yes you’re welcome for that image I just gave you.

  6. I always see people criticize the faces in this, Polar Express, monster House, etc and… I don't see it?
Maybe it's because I grew up on these movies, but I think the animation is actually pretty good.

  7. "fun" fact about gravity: It doesn't matter if the gravity is lower, what kills you isn't the "falling", it's the "stopping". When you're falling, your body accelerates downwards, and, past a certain velocity, your body won't resist the force the ground will exert to you and break apart, crushed by the parts of your body that haven't stopped (or decelerated) and the immobile ground. Lower gravity is "safer" because you take longer to achieve dangerous velocities, but if the air isn't dense enough to resist your acceleration, then you're certain to hurt yourself if you fall from high enough. With denser atmospheres your terminal velocity (the point where drag is equal to gravitational pull, so you can't accelerate anymore) is lower and so is the force you'll receive when hitting the ground, and vice-versa.

  8. That movie got unnecessary hate. It was so cute ☹️ when i first watched it with my mom she didn‘t wanna see it because on how bad the reviews were. But after she watched it she loved the movie and teared up a bit. Yea the animation is a bit creepy but because they used real actors for the movie. The Tintin movie looked creepy as well at some point but no ones talking about that

  9. This was my favorite movie growing up. I was always into the creepier styles of movies, intentionally done or not, and this deffinantly caught my extraterrestrial loving ass's attention, lol.

  10. Heh. I remember this movie came on when I was little with my Mum in a hotel whilst we were traveling. It was fairly late at night for my age so naturally I was already quite tired and prone to emotions. Long story short, the character models, grim yet foolish tone and acid trippy dialogue had me inconsolably in fearful tears within the first portion of the movie. Probably by the time piss grandma was revealed? XD This movie really has a tonal issue. Everyone with a brain finds it stupid and boring but based on my experience of being six, it's definitely far too freaky looking for little kids lmao
