  1. At 2:05:00, I actually knew quite a few climbers when I went to school in Montana. I never got into it, but while they certainly had means, but I'd say getting into climbing doesn't cost much more than a mid tier gaming rig.
There were stores that sold used (but carefully inspected I hope) equipment.
When I lived in Texas (with no mountains), it was the domain of the rich. But when I lived 20 miles from mountains, it was a hobby for a lot of people.
But to them, it wasn't a big adventure. It was not much different that going for a long hike on the weekends.

  2. Watched Cunk on Earth a couple of days ago as well. If you haven't already, you should definitely also watch Cunk on Britian. Very much the same vibe, obviously.

Personally I think that the old vs new graphics preference is basically the same as the console vs PC debate. Likely both is just what you're used to and maybe nostalgia. With the number of games out there I think it's also a valid decision not to play the ones that you don't like visually. Why subject yourself to something you don't enjoy just because someone else said it's the best game ever? No different to having to force yourself to read all classic books, watch all classic films, appreciate all famous paintings… even though you don't enjoy the style.

Luckily not every new game has to have the most advanced graphics to be successful so people can get new games with the style they prefer. 🙂

  3. At 2:15:30 nice aim, getting several crotch shots. I don't know what's worse, dying from being burnt alive or from multiple bullet wounds to the crotch? To be fair, at this point, if I was a Trinity grunt, and they told me Lara was close, I'd probably feign injury with the insane body count of Trinity soldiers she has.
