Every big competitive online FPS game and even-non FPS games right now are free to play with microtransactions: Fortnite, Apex Legends, Valorant, League of Legends, etc. I think it only makes sense for OW to hop on the trend of modern monetization models. It will be much better for the long term growth and support of the game I think.

Ow1 doesnt have "bunch of microtransaction". It is the best lootbox system in the entire industry i feel like. I love in belgium where lootboxes are completely illegal to prevent minors(=gambling). And i still manage to have everything in game without buying a single lootbox. Just playing it gives me enough coins and loots to purchase any cosmetic. I cant wait to see which monetization route theyre gonna go in.
