Just add the planned story mode and it will be sequel worthy… but no, they remove the only thing that wouldve changed the game from overwatch 1
overwatch 2 was announced with the intent to be more, including the PvE which is still due to happen. Community complaints about a lack of content and the need to further test the changes before the pro scene was taken to it are the reasons for a pvp beta. Poor management caused delays and a lack of content on the live version, pushing people to demand content and low development times meant that the professional scene did not have sufficient time to stress test some of the bugs in the game. There was a bug where one character could crash everyone else in the lobby, imagine if that occured in a professional game. Had covid and said management issues not been around, the overwatch 2 beta would have been more than just a few small changes. The amount of people who complain saying "its just an update" is starting to get on my nerves when the development team at blizzard have explained the situation to us about why so little has happened in so much time. I have no links, but i'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to find the explanations i am referring to.
And to all the people saying about how they should just add the PvE to OW1 as a paid expansion, the developers said long ago that people who own OW1 will get the OW2 PvP access for free. The PvE will need to be purchased separately as is the situation with Fortnite and other games. The need for a whole new game, as opposed to major updates, is that OW2 relies on a new development engine as stated by developers on announcement.

They dropped the ball on the marketing by calling it OW2 but OW2 is just the PVE stuff we have yet to see.

As a support player i actually prefer 6v6. And the push mode is in my opinion not that fun to play. I do prefer 2cp over push.

You know, I’m kinda glad Battleborn died the way it did. Quickly, and painlessly. Could have ended up like OW2 and just… well you know.

It's crazy how much I forgot about overwatch like I've played more paladins in the last month than overwatch in the last year.

Why the 12?
They should have just sold it as an EXPANSION… And people would get it..But calling it Overwatch 2.. Just makes no sense. Hell. They could have changed the name to Overwatch: Return… Since the story was in the game that Overwatch, the global military hero group disbanded.. And now they are back.
