  4. I have a Stargazer and a Finex. I like Smithey CI more than Stargazer. The best thing about the Stargazer is the ergonomics of the handle. Best feeling handle on any CI I own.

    As for the Finex, the design and looks of the handle was what drew me in. Turns out the handle is my absolute LEAST thing about it in use. To me, the handle is too round, and feels too thick and bulky in my hand. The feel of the handle is the sole reason I only own one Finex. Sexy, but not my thing.

  7. I asked this on an older video. Maybe a short, actually. But I reheated a hamburger patty in my very well seasoned carbon steel skillet. It left a couple of really sticky oily blotches on the surface of the pan that I've been unable to easily remove. What should I do about these? I reheated the pan up with a little water in it and then rinsed while using one of those scrub daddy sponges and it didn't remove it at all. Should I just keep re-seasoning as usual in hopes that it will eventually go away? Or do I need to strip it down and start over? I dread the latter as I really do have this thing seasoned up quit well. Perfect egg test every time : )

  13. Man I can't wait to hear your review of the Stargazer and Finex cast iron skillet. I got the 10" Finex for my mom and she absolutely loves it. Seasoning adheres easily, nothing sticks to it, and she gets so many compliments for the skillet during her monthly dinner parties because it's an eye catcher. I ordered my mom the 14" skillet/braiser with a lid as her Christmas present because of the 20% off and I'm planning on giving it to her early so she can get many cooks in before Christmas.

  17. The de buyers are awesome pans, but I’ve got a slight problem with mine. I’ve called them five times. They never called me back and the problem has not been resolved. Their customer service is terrible. I will not buy another pan from them even as good as they are. And they never ever answer the phone.

  19. Ended up with a couple of 10-piece All Clad D5 sets from Macy's last week, they were $250 each (possibly a pricing error?) That cooled down the hunting for Black Friday no doubt, it doesn't get better than this.
